I know they're only trying to be helpful but OMG I think I might punch the next person who suggests it

just wanted to say that you have all my sympathy..Sad
had HG with my ds til 5/6 months which was the most miserable time of my life, but just had really awful morning sickness (i would say) when pg with dd - was given avomine which also saved the day for me!
It would make me weep when people would suggest this, that or the other.. if i had had the strength i would have screamed "I CAN'T EVEN KEEP DOWN A GLASS OF WATER, YOU *!!!"
If you can drink or eat anything at all, however "unhealthy" it would be in normal life then go for it.
Especially the first time around I really didn't get any comfort from people saying "it will all be worth it", but actually it turned out to be true..
to the extent that i am currently attempting to persuade dh that having a dc3 wouldn't be sooo bad... Grin but he remembers how awful i am/feel during pg so is less keen!
All the best to all of you Smile

OP, I will happily beat over the head with my handbag anyone who suggests the g word to you.

It's that stupid way they say 'have you tried. . .' when you're 25 weeks already, and you have to bite your tongue as hard as possible to not say 'do you think I'm some sort of fucking moron, that I've not tried the most obvious and widely touted MS cure? Do you honestly think you're the FIRST person to suggest this? If you do, you're a fucking idiot, now stand aside whilst I puke in this bin!'

I may have had some experience with this. Grin

oh you're all so lovely!

I'm eating little portions of plain stuff ok, just cannot keep ANYTHING down for more than about an hour so am being sick about 5/6 times a day.

I had forgotten from my last pregnancy (DD is 12!) how much people see it as a free license to bestow on you all their experiences and advice without you asking and as if you've never heard it before (I don't mean you lot of course - that's what MN is for!!)

I'm 13 weeks now and it's showing no signs of easing so I think a trip to the GP might be in order

I also had very bad nausea and vomiting at the beginning of my pregnancy. I was vomiting up to 15 times a day sometimes and in the end had to take sick leave from work. Everybody kept on saying to take ginger, but I couldn't not stand the smell of it or the taste! The only thing that i could stomach were crackers and rice cakes. When it got to the point that I could not even get out of bed I started to take homeopathy tablets (cause doctor wouldn't give me medication) that worked a treat!

I know what you mean, people kept buying me ginger biscuits.
All that happened to me was that I'd throw up...ginger biscuits.
Don't have any magic formulas but hope you feel better soon.
