I'm sure this has been posted before but hasn't applied to me so I haven't paid much attention!

I have been very nauseas (sp?), hungry, tired and with huge, painful breasts up until now. The nausea has gone, the hunger has died down a lot and my breasts, though not back to normal, are much less hard and sore. Should I bother the midwife or be glad that perhaps the worst is over and expect to 'bloom' soon...?! thanks.

I had this with DS. It made me really panic, but all was fine. I think I was just lucky and my morning sickness etc passed quickly. This time round no such luck, it lasted until 17 weeks! Obviously check with your midwife if you are worried, but sometimes morning sickness does only last until about 10 weeks.

If you're really worried, by all means contact your midwife - they are there to help you, after all.

However, I just wanted to say that I felt this way at 10 weeks with DS. I had been feeling really nauseous but it started to really go at 10/11 weeks and I panicked. I was really distraught! All was fine and I was just lucky that the more unpleasant symptoms were going away! I realised, in retrospect, they hadn't completely gone anyway - in fact, the 'gagging' feeling didn't really go until 16 weeks.

This time around, I have hyperemesis and am praying it starts to ease as early (am only 7/8 weeks) but I fear it won't!

thanks for your replies. You poor thing TeaRocks (hey, I might even fancy tea again...), that is one of my worst nightmares. Hope it passes soon. I might give mw a call to check - i do stil have that hyper sensitive gag reflex though so thats good Confused

TeaRocks you sound like me, I have had hypermesis this time too so you have my sympathy, but it has now gone - 17 weeks was a turning point, which I know will seem forever to you now, but my biggest fear was that I'd have it for 9 months. Hope you feel better soon.

jellyhead188 · 22/11/2010 14:47

GrumpyFish you've just given me hope, I've had morning sickness up till now (turned 17 weeks yesterday) still feel a bit ropey but I'd given up hope of it going!

doitorelsa - I think symptoms just come and go at different times they have with me all 3 times!, try not to worry, hopefully your scan must be soon - and you'll see a bouncing little bubba!

xxx

All of my symptoms disappeared at nine weeks and never came back. I'm 18 weeks now. I freaked out too but just accepted now I've actually been quite lucky!

brightstar1974 · 22/11/2010 22:30

I started feeling much better at ten weeks and inevitably started worrying! But other than fatigue I felt quite normal and assumed there was something wrong. But all was well- it's not a given that we have to feel rotten for the first 12 weeks- nor that we miraculously feel better at 12 weeks 1 day! Looking back I am really grateful I felt better at 10 weeks since the 4 weeks, from week 6 to 10 that I did feel horrendous, were the longest 4 weeks of my life!!

lucielooo · 23/11/2010 13:41

Exactly the same as tearock - my sickness went at 10 weeks and made me panic as I felt fine. Also with hindsight I didn't really feel fine, I'd just forgotten what normal felt like. My symptoms were very sporadic in the first trimester anyway but didn't reall feel sick after 10 weeks although definitely at 20 weeks still have an over-active gag reflex :)

TeaRocks · 25/11/2010 19:51

Thanks, GrumpyFish - it's good to have some hope!
