hey

ive just applyed for the grant, and i dont quite understand what the if your child tax cred is higher than the family element?

i had a quick look at the forms i have for my working tax cred/child tax cred. and it said basic child tax credit is £547.50? but i read on the hm rev website if its higher than £548 per year.

sorry if this makes no sense! but i really cant get my head around it!

be gratfull if someone could explain :)

I don't think you will be entitled to it then. You have to be getting more than £547.50 a year ctc.

You have to get more than £548 to qualify - you get less so don't qualify.

Did you tick the box saying you get more than the family element? If so you might be in trouble for giving false information.

ah so im 50p off then!

Definitely ring up - I'm not sure how it works but if they think you're trying to get the grant by fraud it could cause you problems.
