39 +5 weeks pregnant and baby not going down into pelvis

Hi all

I'm getting really fed up now as I almost 40 weeks pregnant and my baby is nowhere near engaging.
This is my second pregnancy, however my first baby never engaged and was breech almost all the way through the pregnancy.
He turned head down at 34 weeks when I went for a growth scan but then managed to flip back to breech by 38 weeks so ended up having an elective c-section 8 days before my due date.
I'm worried that baby number 2 is still doing somersaults as some days she feels like shes breech other days she feels head down.
I have a c-section booked for a week today when I will be 40 +5 weeks for if she hasn't already made an apperance by then but I really wanted to give birth vaginally this time round.
I've had a few period like pains for the last few days but they only seem to happen when I'm laid in bed on a night and then after coming on and off for no more than an hour....nothing!!
This is really getting me down and I kind of wish I'd have just planned for a c-section earlier as I hate being pregnant so I'm completely fed up now.
Any advice would be welcomed :)

If definitely head down then the Hindi squat yoga position will open your pelvis and push baby down. Contraindicated for breech though.

You can help baby get in the right position for this by going on all 4s with your bum in the air and chest pushed towards the floor, knees quite wide apart and ankles in line. Then push your bum back towards your ankles and put your weight on your feet, supporting yourself with your hands. Push back until your weight is wholly on your feet, straighten your back and put your hands in the prayer position, elbows between your knees to push them apart. If you can't get that far don't worry.

Tue other way is to stand with feet a hip width apart and slowly squat down but you need good balance fir that!

Thanks for that fakkinup but another thing I forgot to mention is that I suffer with SPD so not sure how much of that I'll be able to manage, although I will give it a go

Ignore that then - def not advised!

The SPD version is to sit backwards facing on a chair with your legs as apart as you can manage or a stool with a table in front for support and straighten your back. Raise your knees as much as you can, keeping as open as poss. That way you're not pushing down and straining the hips but mimicking the position.

The all fours pushing back thing as well but don't put weight onto your feet.

Hip circles as though hula-hooping too.

Ok great, I'll give those a try instead
