Ok last time I was pregnant there was a thread on here with the same name and it made me feel less stupid about the overwelming urge to cry at absolutely anything.

I decide to start this tread again because I cried all the way around Sainsburys today Hmm why? because a very nice young lad (must of been about 12/13yrs old)asked me if I would like a hand getting my daughters buggy off the bus at my stop. He carried it down and the put it up for me, before jumping back on the bus - it wasn't even his stop! I couldn't stop crying thinking how proud his mum must be of him and how I wish I knew her so I could tell her!

Sainsburys staff were very nice too when asking if I was ok (I explained I was pregnant and hormonal Blush!) they offered me a cuppa and some tissues. Which made me cry even more - some people are so nice.

So please add your hormonal stories here - I already cant watch the news for fear of crying (bloody romantic royals!)

I cried today because I thought of a kiddies book I saw at the library which told the story of a little girl who wondered why her mummy's tummy was growing so big - her mummy kept saying it was "something special" - i sobbed in the library when I read it and my eyes are welling up now!

Just muscle in on this thread to say i'm not pregnant but regularly cry at dogs trust adverts (dont even like dogs), soaps, family photos, disney filsm... the list is endless.

I have even been known to catch the last couple of minutes of a film i have never seen and cry just because people on tv are crying.

Strange because people i work with have been known to call me hard faced and cold hearted. If only they knew the truth!

Dummyhunter · 19/11/2010 07:33

I was feeling better until I read your posts and am now crying again remembering all the adverts that make me cry - when DD was born the John Lewis 'shes always a woman' advert came out and everytime l saw it l cried buckets. Also a word to the wise - please dont watch any Disney films - they are a complete tissue fest!

Yesterday I went to go and look at some houses (we desperately need to move) and I took a wrong turning so I ended up trying to do a U turn on a mini roundabout.

Unfortunately it wasn't wide enough to get round, so I ended up doing a 3 point turn over it, with about 5 cars waiting for me, bawling my eyes out and bright red because I was so embarrassed at my ineptitude! Blush

Dummyhunter I don't know if Lilo and Stitch is a Disney film but I was watching it last night with my DS and cried buckets. Lilo's mum and dad have died and her sister is struggling to look after her. The Social services man comes and says that they are going to have to take her away and that evening she sits and holds her little sister in her arms and sings to her and cries 'cos she doesn't want to lose her - this is a kiddies film!!!!

TheFeministParent · 19/11/2010 08:48

I am not PG but since having dcs I am super emotional!! I cried in the supermarket at a man ordering fish from the counter, he asked for some of it to be put back as he'd forgotten that his wife had gone into a home. Sad

JBrd · 19/11/2010 11:18

I just watched the John Lewis Christmas advert, and now I'm sitting here sobbing my eyes out. Hadn't seen it before...

Yeah, Disney films are dangerous, but anything sets me off these days. Ads with animals are really bad, but I even cried watching Jamie Oliver's American Food Revolution series and more recently, the documentary about Richard Attenborough.

DH just laughs at me, which makes me feel better :)

Dummyhunter · 19/11/2010 13:41

Oh Amberc I know what you mean - don not under any circumstances watch Pixars UP it starts showing the life of a male child and his little female friend - they date - they marry and then there are no children - then they grow old and she dies - OMG was in tears for about a week - couldnt help it even DH was a bit snuffly and he's not a wimp. Crying now just thinking about it - what an emotional wreck l've turned into! Hmm

Dummyhunter I was just about to say DO NOT watch Up if you want to avoid tears! I cried buckets at that film before I was pg and will avoid it like the plague now!

I cried when Jimi Mistry got kicked off Strictly Come Dancing.

I cried this morning listening to a Christmas song called 'Poor Little Jesus'.

I AM PATHETIC!!!! :o

Dummyhunter · 19/11/2010 14:15

Wussbird am still crying - I am pathetic too - just looked up the john lewis advert on line (fool!) as I dont watch much tv so hadn't seen it - bloody child giving his dog a stocking - this is why I dont watch tv much when preggers and if I do I sky + it so I can get rid of the adverts!

I naively watched Up on the outward bound flight on our honeymoon. The issue being we lost our lovely baby at 14 weeks the week before the wedding.

Can you imagine the state I was in? The air hostesses (who knew we were on honeymoon) were really confused at why I was in such a hysterical mess. I don't think I'll ever be able to watch it again. :) / :(

matana · 19/11/2010 15:45

Also cried last night at Corrie - the bit when thy all started applauding Jack Duckworth's funeral procession. Blush

And i always cried at the John Lewis 'she's always a woman' ad.

Not sure how much is hormones and how much is just that i'm petty pathetic anyway and would probably cry at Mr Bean even before i was pregnant.

LeviStubbsTears · 19/11/2010 16:00

This is making me feel much better! I really empathize with writer - I'm a lecturer and took the students to a play a few weeks ago. One bit made me cry buckets, and was just praying it wouldn't end there and then and the lights wouldn't go up! (This could easily have happened before I got pregnant, to be fair, but I think it probably was worse for the state I'm in!) I also cried today because my DH was leaving for a week away (skiing, grrr!) - I'm never usually like that, we're quite independent, and I spend at least 2 nights away from home every week for work so it took me by surprise somewhat. Partly tiredness and low blood sugar, I think, but definitely some sort of hormonal shenanigans too.

Thanks v. much for making me feel better about suddenly feeling all pathetic!

Dummyhunter · 21/11/2010 07:54

this morning I cried because the crumble I just cooked for sunday lunch (with the idea I could just warm it through later) has mysteriously vanished (ok its in my tummyBlush)and now I have to make something else instead. Have just thought about the custard that wont get used either - which has started me off again!

yesterday i cried because dh said it was nice to see me so happy again (we have had a hard time getting to 5 weeks pregnant); then i cried in case i am not pregnant. then i cried because dd (5) was not enjoying her friends birthday party Sad

TooImmature2BMum · 21/11/2010 12:49

I used to cry at the Carphone Warehouse adverts where the poor little old phone gets ridiculed by mean guys who put a cup over it and let it fall off the table! That was years ago and I wasn't pregnant then.

Up makes me howl too. So does Jilly Cooper's Rivals, when Rupert and Taggie finally get together.

MrsPennyLane · 21/11/2010 13:03

Have just read through most of this thread dry eyed and quite pleased for not crying (I have cried over some VERY silly things since being pregnant) until I got to the post about the advert where that cow has always dreamt of being a horse..... am now blubbing away Confused

hippy3 · 21/11/2010 16:29

This thread has me in bits...! i am crying at everything to. I am emotional anyway but am a million times worse ....my DP thinks ive lost the plot and just laughs now...in the nicest possible way! Smile

mcfluffle · 22/11/2010 00:30

Today I cried bucketloads because my 7yr old DD2 said 'could you not just do a Cxxxxx and have the baby die in your belly? so that she could still be the youngest child (I'm 34 weeks) Cxxxxx is her aunt who lost her baby 3 years ago at 29 weeks.
I was completely floored by how flippant she was about the whole thing. Not sure what to do about it

jellyhead188 · 22/11/2010 09:25

I cried at neighbours the other day!

angels1 · 22/11/2010 09:40

I cried at the walkers crisps advert last week (where gary linekar dances about everywhere) as I was frustrated at not having the energy and a bad back so I can't go to the gym and do my lovely aerobics dancey classes anymore. Crikey. DH thinks I'm mad!

JBrd · 22/11/2010 09:41

Saturday I cried while watching the first Harry Potter, yesterday I cried at watching A Bug's Life, and today I cried when reading the first Harry Potter again (just felt like it after the film...).

And it's not even 10 o'clock. Sigh.

Dummyhunter · 22/11/2010 09:50

mcfluffle no wonder you cried - not sure what to say just didnt want you to feel sad on your own

i cry if i feel like i have said something out of place to someone close.. i cry when im worried...
however the worst thing i cry about is things on the t.v ... i was watching natalie cassidy, the programme where she is pregnant. and i cried becus she was getting a pram her mum had. (however her mum died)
but if i am watching a programme on the tele, and someone cries or says something sweet, i get tears in my eyes... is anyone else like this.

i was never like this until i became pregnant

Ivegotmrbitey · 22/11/2010 14:23
