hi,

just need a little reasurance if thats ok. im starting to get a little worried im 33 weeks pregnant and everything so far has been normal and healthy (this is my 2nd child) but recently i have been having short periods of breathlessness (sp!) i understand this is quite common in later pregnancey and normally wouldnt worry me too much but during these periods of breathlesness i feel like my heart is 'dropping' towards my tummy, its really difficult to describe. I dont feel light headed or faint and im not in any pain with it, and they only last 5 mins max oftern late afternoon and bed time. do you think its something to worry about? im a healthy weight for my height my diet is normal. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had breathlesness too from about 30 weeks, i often found i had to sit up and take a deep breath, i think its quite common and i've heard resting on all 4's helps you breath easier (althought not always practical when out and about/at work)

im behind you at 21wk but have been breathless since 19 wk - worst when v tired or needing food!!! mw said its fine if its just to catch breath, not continuouslt - just everything getting a bit tight for space!

My DC's seemed to squash my lungs from week 30-ish. Only standing up or sitting on my ball helped, the gym was good too as I could stretch out.

The moment the surgeon whipped them out of me (cs's) I could feel my lungs plopping back into shape Smile. I was almost as thrilled at being able to breathe again as I was at the dc's having arrived.
