Hi I am 23+ 1, Just wanted to see if I am 'normal'as this is my first pregnancy so VERY nieve. I have really achey back and my stomach feels like I am carrying a lead ballon around with me...feels really heavy, and about 3.30 everyday I get to the point where I can just about keep my eyes open - Just wanted to check that, that is a normal feeling ? Sorry I know all you 38 weekers are probably thinking how very dare you compalin lol! Its more worry that this isnt normal than complaining really. I have worried so so much during this pregnancy first it was about mc, now its about if my waters have broken early TMI warning - Dont the the difference between actual discharge, sweat (SORRY I KNOW TMI) or amnio fluid- my newest worry is now ds- worrying that they may not have picked it up on the can- this is hard work I think once I get to about 30 weeks ill be ok! I just wanted to know am I being a complete nutcase?

Sorry for the long moany post x

Yep, sounds about normal for me too (23 weeks), along with the constant urge to wee, the constant heartburn and the beginning of the nightly wake ups with unbearable cramp. I was like this last time too. Sorry, can you tell I'm not a big fan of pregnancy at the moment.

I find that cake or chocolate helps, and the excitement of the kicks. Oh, and I enjoy thinking about the fact that I've convinced my DH that I can't clean the bathroom for the next five months because of the chemicals - that always cheers me up.

jemsy87 · 12/11/2010 14:11

LMAO- so funny you say that about the bathroom as me and my DP live with my mum and I have convinced them ALL that I cannot do that job for teh exact same excuse you came up with mwhahahaha !!

I know I hate waking up from my sleep after taking ages to fall into a deep sleep just to get up for a 2 secound pee!

Its depressing I feel huge and Im the same as you 23weeks and cannot even do my own shoes up cry lol x

I've booked a day off a month to laze about at home doing nothing and it certainly helps cheer you up and gives you a chance to rest - I'm on my November day today at home on mumsnet on the couch and eating chocolate.

The peeing thing does stop though as soon as the baby's out, as do most of the other symptoms. I find planning my first meal of all the lovely things I can eat when I'm not pregnant helps, and don't go near a normal clothes shop - it's just too depressing.

jemsy87 · 12/11/2010 14:23

I cannot wait to eat all the stuff and drink all the stuff I am not allowed lol!

Just a bit of TMI question for you but ive been getting discharge with a little bit of wetness on my knickers is this normal? not lots just a lil wetness? x

Normal. Get those little thin pant pads and use every day. Towards the end of preg it can get really smelly too. Don't worry!

GruffalosGirl · 12/11/2010 14:28

Yep, it could be extra discharge due to pregnancy or sometimes the weight of the baby can cause your bladder to weaken and you can leak a tiny bit.

But if you're worried I find it's always best to speak to the midwives as I'm the type of worrier who thinks the worst about everything. They should have given you a number to call them on so you could try that.

jemsy87 · 12/11/2010 14:35

TBH my hospital have been really crap- havent told me who to call if I am worried they have only listened to the babys heartbeat at scans and I have only seen the midwife once ....really wish they would give more support x

Is there not a number on your notes to call? Mine tell you to call the labour ward after 20 weeks if there's any problems so you could try that. Have you got an appointment at 25 weeks you could ask for all their contact info and what to do in an emergency. If you're ever really worried don't let them fob you off - insist they help you. If you can't feel ten kicks in a day or the levels of movement suddenly decrease you're supposed to call as well so they really should give you a number.

jemsy87 · 12/11/2010 15:07

Yeah have only being seeing my doctor ( who seems to be a different one everytime I go) do not see my midwife till I am 28 weeks. As for movements she useually moves late at night...but is genrally quite still in the day?

I think the movement thing is mainly if their pattern has suddenly dropped if you've had lots of movement at this stage, the evening movements are just probably her normal movements, sometimes I think walking can rock them to sleep. Do you see your GP then? every area seems to be different as we never see a doctor here unless the pregnancy has been classed as high risk, it's full midwife care. Could you phone the doctor's instead?

pinkyp · 12/11/2010 18:48

they'll just be something else tomoan about at 30 weeks,i've moaned all the way through and i'm still moaning now (38 weeks) everything sounds normal to me ((hugs))
