Am 27+3 and feel your pain. No solutions, but you're not alone! My, why does my throat feel on fire? Tonsilitis? No, heartburn it seems. Plus knackered. Plus nausea. Hey ho, 13ish weeks to go.

My mum keeps telling me how amazing pregnancy is and how I should enjoy it. Biscuit indeed.
Am about to have a double decker - maybe it'll cure everything! Maybe you could try cream cakes?

Oh no, I remember this too, not nice.

MissKitty, have you tried chocolate milkshakes/hot chocolate? The milk helps and you still get your chocolate fix Grin

I feel your pain. I'm 33 weeks and the heatburn is out of control. I vomited this morning and I stayed home from work thinking I was getting the bug that my DH had last week. Now I'm pretty sure that it was from indigestion and my foodpipe is so fucked up that it just had to expel some of last night's food. I've been getting nausea on and off for the last couple of weeks. Up until about 2 weeks ago my heartburn would go away if I ate something but now I have heartburn while I eat, which doesn't make for very appetising meals! My oesophagus is so damaged from the acid that tea really burns it so I have to let it cool down to practically cold before I can drink it.

Pregnancy is not fun!

Thanks Not Short for the hot chocolate suggestion, works a treat Grin And I bought some gaviscon too and they help just before bed so I get some relief overnight.

Im 31 weeks, and my heartburn is in two places, at the same feckin time, down low behind my belly button, then higher up between my boobs.

The ONLY thing that works is zantac/ranitidine, but im unsure if i can take it, some people on here say its fine, they were prescribed it by GP, but on the box it says not take while pregnant.

One pharmasist said not to take it, another said it was fine. I asked the doctors receptionist she wrote my query down and said i`ll ring you back later, that was a week ago, and im still waiting.

I have a healthy very active baby in there, so i dont seem to have done any harm, like i said, its the only thing that works, ive had the gaviscon extra (boak) its vile and doesnt work, neither does ice lollies, rennies, cold water, so i take a zantac and hope im not doing anything wrong

I seem to have got rid of pretty horrific heartburn (which was affecting even my ability to drink water) with no meds by de-acidifying my body. Apart from eating foods that are naturally alkaline and cutting out all fizzy drinks (with sugar OR sweetners), I eat small meals five times a day and add a little bicarbonate of soda to my drinking water (1 teaspoon per 5 litres); it might taste a little salty to those who aren't fans of Vichy Catalan mineral water, but my god, it's worth it. Oh, and I have a dessert spoon of cloudy apple cider vinegar dissolved in a small glass of water before eating lunch and dinner. The latter sounds counter-intuitive, but aparently it aids digestive acids, and it certainly seems to work.

I used to take bicarb and cider vinegar to relieve the symptoms of cystitis, and since I was recently treated for a urine infection which I hadn't even noticed, I'm hoping this low acid diet will also help in that area, as I don't want to take more antibiotics.
