Swelling of hands- any advice?

I have only got 2 weeks to go but I am finding the swelling in my fingers is making my knuckles really painful especially in the morning - usually disappearing later on but now they are sore all day, luckily I have finished work so haven't got the problems trying to type and write. Has anyone got any advice on how to ease these pains.

Haven't got to that stage yet, and didn't with ds1. But maybe ask your doctor if you can go to a qualified massage therapist who will massage your hands to get the circulation going and the blood flowing. I am a massage therapist and I would probably massage my own hands or go to my regular therapist for it. I would massage pregnant women in the lower back to ease pain or in the legs to ease pain from sciatica, so I am sure a regular hand massage would benefit you immensly. Please check with your doctor first.

I used to sit with my hands right up in the air (not in public obviously ) - that seemed to "drain" them. Or spray them with a water spritzer/foot spray. Asda do a nice cooling one in their baby section.
I took all my rings off and wore them round my neck on a chain.
You're in the home stretch now. Just be aware if they get really itchy or blotchy or both to let you midwife know, just to be on the safe side.

Sounds like carpel tunnel syndrome where the fluid is gathering in your hands/wrists and causing pressure on nerves etc. causing pain, especially in the morning. The midwife can refer you to the physio for splints to wear at night which help. It should go after delivery.
