My niece is heavily pregnant at the moment and in pain from her stretchmarks - they feel like burms.

Other than moisturising, which she is doing, does anyone have any wonder tips?

TIA

how far on is she? I'm 37 weeks and feeling the burn too (and it's itchy) - and having a very, very active baby doesnt help. In fact, I can see them appearing as I watch the baby move.

I have been using baby oil or Bio-oil, and keeping my skin exposed to the air when at all possible. It's a bit messy at times, but it helps a bit.

Try and reduce the weight on the skin - a support vest might help or just spending plenty of time in the bath (but not hot as this'll make the itchyness worse).

I didnt get them really with the first but this time I've had the same problem since 25 wks. It has been agony, mine are around belly button and I frequently knock them (my toddler obviously doesnt understand why I cant cuddle so closely and wince when he wriggles or climbs over me.) I have been doing the same just baby oil and moisturiser, there is a product called oilatum that you can put in the bath that I was going to try as my friend with bad eczema swears by it but I havent bought it yet, will check with pharmasist its ok in pregnancy im sure it is as its over the counter in boots. I agree baths help and depending on where they are the way you sit to take the weight off them. Im nearly 38 weeks now and I must admitt they are better since baby has 'dropped.'

Thanks all. She only has a couple of weeks left now. :)

Any mosituriser will do, it doesn't have to be expensive. Even Olive oil or baby oil. Porridge oats put in a sock or the cut off foot of an old pair of tights then in a bath is supposed to be very soothing as it has anti-innflamatory properties. It lasts for ages too.
