Hi Nomi Smile

I was 20 when I had my daughter, and shes now nearly 6.

My daughter was completely unplanned, so I can sympathise with you as to how you are feeling at the mo; worried, scared etc.

Get a test done asap tomorrow, then come back and I'll be happy to chat with you about all the ins and outs of having a baby at a fairly young age.

i'm really surprised how cruel people are being here, why so unsupportive? we should all know about the conflicting emotions that come with pregnancy. nomi i hope it all works out for you and that you are ok xx

Pingpong · 31/10/2010 22:58

come back and let us know how you get on nomi.

Mahraih · 31/10/2010 23:20

Hi Nomi,

Just another supportive post - I think some people on here are being needlessly cruel, it's not nice to see.

I'm 26 weeks pregnant and 22, got pregnant when I was 21 and there were LOTS of conflicting emotions.

I think its great you've worked in a baby room - the last time I even held a baby was approximately 2004! Even a little experience is helpful, I'm sure.

Do the test, I hope that you get the result that you want and you're able to sort things out with your bf.

I was well into my thirties when I had my first baby, and my first thought when I thought I might be pg was "help!" like you. Even if you really want a baby, there can be lots of conflicting emotions. Becoming a mum is a big life change, but a good one! Very best of luck and let us know how you get on tomorrow. Smile

LoopyLoupGarou · 01/11/2010 09:28

Have you done the test? I hope you're OK. :)

BarbieLovesKen · 01/11/2010 09:53

The best of luck today Nomi!. Please make sure you come back and let us know how it goes.

As others have said, regardless of age I think everyone is terrified when pregnant! Im pregnant with very mych planned number 3 but have my moments of "aaarrrgggh!!!!! how will we cope etc..".

Try not to worry, 20 really isnt young. I was pregnant with dd at 19, had her at 20 and everything worked out great. Would be happy to chat through anything with you.

stuffedmk · 01/11/2010 10:39

I was 21 when I had my son, my body coped much better than it has ten years later...being young has it's advantages, don't panic, you'll be fine.

BroodyRhi · 01/11/2010 16:26

Hi Nomi89, hope you get support from your b/f and find a nice group here to join if you get the BFP. It is a conflicting and confusing time being preggers unexpectedly at any age and wanting a baby or not in the future does not take away from the fear and worries when you are faced with it being a reality.

nomi89 · 01/11/2010 16:32

That's brilliant news, and I'm glad DP is being supportive.

Make sure you go to your GPs soon, also you need to be taking folic acid.

Take care :)

Pingpong · 01/11/2010 17:02

Congratulations Smile next step the doctors then. I'm glad your boyfriend is happy at the thought of being a daddy and I hope you can work out a way for you all to be together.

AbiAbi · 01/11/2010 17:09

Congratulations; you must be due around early June? Lovely time to have a baby, and it won't be too hot when you are massive either Smile

BarbieLovesKen · 01/11/2010 17:15

Huge congratulations. I second the folic acid!!. Pop into chemist and start taking it asap. I'd say July AbiAbi? as Im over 10 weeks and due the 28th May. If Im wrong though Nomi and your due in June, join our lovely group in ante natal groups!!!
