Twins prenatal movement - rugby scrum or not??

Just wanted to ask mums of twins about their experience of prenatal movements...could you definitely tell which was which? Did they interact? Even more scarily, did they wake each other up!? Was one more active than the other, if you could distinguish between them? I'm very curious as at 16 weeks, today felt first boot in the belly from Right Hand Baby and am wondering what's in store for me this time!First time, with ds, he was doing karate chops and backflips all day and night (and still is ), so am a bit apprehensive...!

Ta muchly!

no i couldnt tell just a bunch of elbows and feet, and with two in there it can get quite painful sometimes. i think towards the end even they were fed up of being cramped inside and rather than a kick here and there - like with my first child - it semed more like they were jostling for the most comfortable position. god i dont envy you in this heat!

I could usually tell because I often only felt movement on one side - even though the other one was always moving all over the place during scans (had lots of those) I could rarely feel him. Funnily enough the one I could feel was head down for the last 10 weeks, whereas the other one was flipping over all the time but never felt it !

Thanks Throckenholt - I'm only feeling movement so far on the side that the midwife found the one heartbeat, so your post is encouraging! I know these are early days tho....my neighbour of 87 years had ten babies, I wonder if she got as paranoid after the first few?? And Ta for the warning Custardo...

My mom and grandmother both had twins and neither knew it (nor did the doctors, of course) until the foot of 2nd baby appeared during the birth. First pregnancies, though, might be different if you have some previous experience to go by.

My mom reckoned that the twins kicked her so much that they bruised her ribs for life, though.
