Hi
I am 21 weeks pregnant with DC2. DS was CONSTANTLY moving when I was pregnant - and still is. I rarely went more than half an hour without feeling some almightly kick, in fact I was worried at the time that I had a hyperactive baby!
This one, though, seems far less wriggly. I had a scan at 14 weeks and everything was fine, but not got my anomaly scan until next Wed. I'm just a bit worried that I feel less movement. I do feel movements and have done for at least 5 weeks, but they are much less frequent. What do you think?

I think they're all different. I'm 27 weeks with #2, and this one is more of a kicker. DD was a wriggler and also very active first thing and during the day. This one is definitely a late night party animal, but does very little in the mornings.

Where the placenta is, their position and the kind of person they are has an effect on what you can feel so don't worry - movement is movement and it's also still early to feel everything. Just you wait till your 31weeks!

Yes, DS1 was far more wriggly than DS2 or DD.

DS2 far more wriggly than DS1 (who was a chilled baby and a chilled toddler). DS2 has been on the go totally since he came out the womb. So different personalities and different levels of activity...

I'm 38 weeks pg with no 4. He has definitely been the quietest of them all, he is more of a pusher and turner than DS2 who was a complete hooligan in the womb and beat me mercilessly ( I was xrayed when having DS2 because they suspected he had broken my ribs!)

There was a thread about this a while ago and the general consensus iirc seemed to be that the more they move while pg the more active they are once they're born.

I'm hoping this is true as I would like a nice chilled baby - DS2 is nearly 7 and still finds is physically impossible to sit still...

yes. with ds (ist baby) i had to be pretty still to feel him. Didn't move much..

With dd, when i lay on my side, dh could feel her movements across the bed. She moved heaps and kept me awake with it.

It's their personalities - ds is very laid back and chilled, dd is 'go go go'!

It seems I go against all perceived thought...

DS hardly ever moved - I even bought a listening machine to reassure myself by listening to his heartbeat as the movements were so infrequent. He's now 4 and on the go all day from the second he wakes to the second his head hits the pillow.

DD was a nutter in the womb - karate kicks galore. She's been the most chilled and laid back little thing since she arrived and she's now 2.

DS was fairly wriggly but by comparison DD was a gymnast. DS was breech though, and is now a pretty active child. DD is only 5 weeks but is more laid back now she's out!
