Would you call the midwife for this

Bearing it mind it would be the midwives at the hospital (so I don't want to bother them unless I really have to)...

I'm 22 weeks and last night and the night before I've been uncomfortable with getting to sleep, sitting, anything.

I had lower back pain when I was driving the car and then we went out to eat and when I sat it was uncomfortable around my tummy on the right side as well.

When we got home and I was in bed I had pain in my right side of my bump, so much so that I couldn't get to sleep. If I'm honest it was quite painful.

Eventually I went to sleep and this morning I've got a hot water bottle on my tummy (not too hot though) and my lower right back feels like it's in spasms and is sore.

I reckon it's joint related. Would you phone the midwife?

Thanks in advance. I worry about everything :)

Yes, I think you should phone. It sounds more than the usual twinges, so worth getting checked out. They won't mind and it will settle your mind if you have spoken to them. Hope you feel better Smile

Sounds like the baby's pressing on a nerve. This is more likely to be a problem for you, than for the baby, but anything unusual and/or painful should be checked out.
Give the hospital a ring and talk it through with one of the midwives. They'll probably tell you to come in to be monitored, just to make sure everything's ok (and they love using the machines that go 'bing'!).
Don't worry about 'bothering' them. They are there to make sure you and your baby are ok. They won't mind and will be lovely (and probably order you to get some rest-perfect excuse to spend the weekend in bed and being waited on!).
Give them a ring, and let us know how you are.

I would. If it's worrying you it's worth checking out.

Is it radiating down the leg? if it is I think it's probably the baby pressing on your sciatic nerve but I would phone just to be on the safe side.

No, it's just in the lower back and sometimes across the belly. I had sciatica with DD1 and this is different to that.

Although I wouldn't rule out some kind of nerve thing, it's constantly twinging and is so painful.

I phoned the midwives and they said take some paracetamol and call them back in an hour to see if any better Hmm. I have just taken them, I hope it starts to work soon because I want to cry :(

Bear in mind I am a wuss and I've not had much sleep so that doesn't help!
