Just curious - anyone here got one, or going to get one? I'm getting mine a week on Wednesday post-pregnancy at 13w1d Smile

I'm a member of Abbyloopers but I just wondered if there was anyone else here in the TAC boat to share experiences with :-)

Hello ladies, lovely to catch up with you!

Libelulle - I forgot to thank you, so thanks for the info! I got a bit concerned myself about my discharge (thought it could be the precursor to something, as yours was) but it is apparently normal so I am trying not to worry.

Sparklies - so pleased that you are doing well, I hope you make it to your C-sec date and will keep my fingers crossed for you. Please keep us updated.

WorzselMummage - nice to hear from you. I can understand how you feel re: 'trying'. I must admit that when you know your pregnancy is not likely to be completely 'straightforward' it makes the decision to actually 'try' quite hard. I have mixed feelings about the idea of another pregnancy TBH. On the one hand we have always said we wanted two children, BUT (and it's a big BUT) the stress of the first 12 weeks of this pregnancy nearly sent me over the edge so I would have to think long and hard about before doing it again, especially when we already have one child to consider/ look after.

A quicky update on me. I am 23 weeks tomorrow and now see my consultant obstetrician weekly as opposed to forntightly (more for my piece of mind than hers I suspect!) Every week she does an ultrasound and checks out baby and makes sure that my membranes aren't bulging and that my cervix is tightly closed. Every few weeks she does a proper 'visual' exam using a speculuum. So far, so good. Cervix apparently tightly closed, although short and baby is growing well (measuring 2 weeks ahead - eek!) The plan is to carry out an elective c-sec at 39 weeks if I make it that far, otherwise if baby is prem we will try for a natural birth (better for baby my obs tells me).

At the mo I am literally counting down the minutes, days and weeks until safety. If I can make it to 30 weeks I will be well chuffed. Having the odd Braxton Hicks these days but my obs is not worried and I have been put on progesterone suppositories to keep premature labour at bay.

Worzel - heh, yep, that was how this baby was made pretty much! We were very lucky though, and I got pregnant first month "not really trying" which was a little bit annoying as I'd planned on having a pre-pregnancy TAC (I hadn't yet had my appointment with Mr. Wales!) but it all worked out in the end. I hope things do happen for you relatively soon!

BellyandBoobs - Glad to hear things are going well.. yep, I hear you on the heartburn, aching hips and insomina.. ugh. I'm currently a third of the way through my latest enough-to-stun-a-horse course of prophylactic antibiotics so I have those side-effects on top too. Bloody awful! Really hope you get to use the pool. I never adjusted to the idea of having #1 and went into shock when I went into labour, and I wasn't high risk that first time!

Storm - Ah yes, those final few weeks before 24 weeks last forever! It goes a lot quicker after that I found - I can't believe I am almost at 28 weeks as it seems like 5 minutes ago I was at viability. 24 weeks is so critical especially here in the UK as it's the time they finally start stopping labour or trying to save the baby plus a whole load of other legal stuff. I'm on the suppositories as well and I think they really help with the contractions. Glad to hear everything is looking good!

bellyandBoobs 34 weeks !! wow Grin you must be so happy! Fingers crossed for your pool birth. I always get a bit teary when i see a water birth on the tele, it always looks so serene!

Storm It sounds like your consultant is really on the ball, thats brilliant! I think my own consultants could do with a few lessons!

Counting the days down to 24 weeks is a huge thing and 30 weeks is real milestone too, I think 30 weeks is around the time people who have risky pregnancies tend to breath a sigh of relief.

sparklies I don't know how i feel about "relatively soon", parts of me wants another baby NOW and part doesn't want one at all. I had a munch of my friends newborn who was just the most perfect little being and made me silly broody.. my boobs hurt every time he cried.. how crazy!

I wish I could grow a baby in a incubator on my windowsill, this whole decision would be made so much easier.. i'd have about 15!

It's really great to heard you all all ticking along so well.. really really great Grin
