Nausea before 4 weeks. Throwing up by 15dpo. Good sign?

Does this bode well or not?

I've had 2 previous miscarriages at approx 11 weeks both times, and never felt this ill, so is the sickness a good sign do people think?

Seriously, the earlier onset the nausea......

hahahahhahah! You are going to be big as a house Grin

pinkjello · 19/10/2010 20:55

Sickness is seen as a good sign because it means your body is flooding with pregnancy hormones which are needed to sustain the pregnancy.

Re nausea at 3wks-Do you have twins in the family? Grin

pinkjello · 19/10/2010 20:56

Oh dear, funny Xposts Grin

SofaKitten · 19/10/2010 20:59

Only twins are identical great great aunts - and identical is not generic so that doesn't help.

No seriously - the last 2 pregnancies the nausea kicked in at 6 weeks and lasted until the pregnancies failed...

I sort of want the throwing up to continue because it show's I'm still pregnant, but work is going to be a nightmare even with the knackeredness!

How do people cope? Shock

She's going to be so cross if there are three of them in there. Grin

I got a positive test this time round at 10dpo, I had already been vomiting/nausea for a few days. It was my sign I was pregnant.

Im 23 weeks now with just ONE baby. :)

SofaKitten · 19/10/2010 21:01

Oi! Stop it!!

Thanks Julez for that (previous comment directed at WMMC uncalled for triplet allegations...) Grin

Coping strategies - keep dry biscuits (ginger ones are good) by the bed and eat them before you get up. Small sips of water help.

Eat very often but very small things - if you can keep down half a biscuit that's good, don't worry about eating too healthily either, whatever stays down is good.

I found very cold water was better than anything and I could still have tea but not coffee.

Don't forget your folic acid.

SofaKitten · 19/10/2010 21:08

Thanks although strangely I am fine in the mornings - it's afternoons and evenings before I lie down on the sofa (like now) when I really struggle not to heave.

I'll get some biccies tomorrow. (Yes I will turn into the size of a house!)

It's about keeping your blood sugar stable, nibbling can be better than anything. It may pass quite quickly. I was sick for three weeks, then nothing for a few, then back again.

SofaKitten · 19/10/2010 21:16

OK that makes sense - and thanks for the warning that it comes and goes or I'll panic it's all gone horribly wrong again!

A heavy bleed is a much better indicator of problems than waking up and not feeling like shit :)

whomovedmychocolate · 19/10/2010 21:28

Do you feel like it's a better pregnancy btw, I have had two miscarriages and with both they didn't feel 'right' but the two DCs felt right.

First time I got pg I had nausea from 5 days PO which was at epic proportions by the time period was due - then had mc at 7 weeks. Second time (with current pregnancy - now 22 weeks) got nausea at 7 days PO and still terrible and horrible, but not as bad as first time. They told me I might have twins because of my reaction but nope, just the one in there! Think it depends on the pregnancy and what you're doing in life at the time (like if you're more sleep deprived/stressed etc it can make nausea worse).

BarbieLovesKen · 20/10/2010 10:25

Im taking it as a good sign to be honest, although realistically, theres no way of really telling, is there? (from stories on here).

Going by my own experience though. Yes. I think it sounds good.

With my dd and ds I had quite a few symptoms from 6ish weeks on (MC with dd from 8 weeks).

With MC I felt way too good if Im honest. No symptoms.

This time, I am desperately ill. Even waking in the middle of the night because of nausea. I started actually vomiting at 8dpo and tested positive at 11dpo. Really sick ever since, Im taking it as a good sign. (8 weeks today)

Really hope all goes well for you
