SPD sufferers question regarding your braxton Hicks?

Hi there,

Any SPD sufferers finding that your braxton Hicks are very painful. Mine are now really really sore and when I have them I cant move at all. Everywhere you read BH's are not meant to be painful but mine are excruciating at times and keep me awake at night and wake me up. My midwife says some women do suffer from painful BH's but I am wondering if the link is due to my SPD as that is quite bad at the moment and I am just about mobile.

I have SPD and have to say that I haven't really noticed any BH, didn't in first preg either. But I can definitely see how they could make SPD pain worse, as surely they must place some extra strain on the poor old ligaments.

Sorry: that's not really much help, is it?

narmada how many weeks are you as mine only got bad at about 30 weeks I would say. Sorry to hear you are suffering..SPD is brutal!

Hi again lennon80. You and I seem to be experiencing very similar pregnancies!! My BHs started about 30 weeks and have been very uncomfortable. They make me hold my breath and I get them a lot. I'm now 36+4 and the SPD is making me feel like my hips and groin are going to give way soon due to the weight of my bump!! This is my 4th DC and I think my body is trying to tell me something!!! Good luck. Smile

madhouse41 thanks for that..I did wonder about the link with SPD. I have had a lot of BH's too, the hospital mentioned to me that I have an 'irritable uterus' ( quite possible you have this too). I know what you mean..I feel like my whole pelvis is about to shatter or crumble at any given moment..that it is not stable at all. I am worried about this and giving birth and doing some real damage.

lennon I am now.... 40 weeks, due on sunday, hurrah!. Although not expecting to be on time.

Ah well narmada looks like that was one thing you managed to escape. I hope your little one comes sooner rather than later so your SPD pain can begin to ease.

thanks lennon. I will be so, so grateful to be able to turn over in bed and sit down for longer than 5 minutes comfortably again!

To give you some hope, my SPD eased a bit when my baby engaged about 38 weeks.
