I've got my 20 week scan next week and do not want to find out the sex, however i really love old wives tales and was wondering of those of you who know what you are having how do you carry them??!! i.e if you're having a boy are you all out front and if a girl, more around the hips???

My boys were carried all out at the front, my girls all round but the clincher was the morning sickness horrendous with the boys none at all with the girls. I knew by week five if it was a girl or a boy purely because of the morning sickness which started the day my period was due.

3 girls. dd1 & 3 out in front and dd2 all round.

I've had 2 boys and a girl and I carried them all the same. Out in front. I think its more to do with the mother than the baby.

A Polish friend of mine says there is a polish old wives tale that if you are pregnant with a girl the girl takes her mother's beauty; with a boy you look more beautiful than ever. So if you are blooming maybe it's a boy.

well, if the polish old wives tale is true it may be a girl cos i look like shit!!!!!! Hair is limp and got rash round chin and nose, never have i felt so unattractive!!! Thought you bloomed in 2nd trimester Hmm

DS was all up front. Morning sickness started approx week 20. Odd I know.
DD was in front but v low. Morning sickness was worse but only from weeks 7-16.
9 weeks PG with DC3 and feeling like death. Feel nauseous all day every day. It is helped a bit by eating but I'm so bored of eating when I'm not in the slightest bit hungry.

sam26oscar - had to comment on your great nickname - my DH is called Sam and my DS Oscar!

I don't think you can tell at all! I had bad heartburn with the last girl, and people said 'oh, it'll be a hairy baby' - whaaaaat? She did have hair, but no more than average.

I am sick with this one but not at all with the last ones, but I still think it will be a girl. My last two were girls, my bro and sis have 2 and 3 girls each - can't see this onebeing different!

DD1 was more of a low slug pie eater bump (I hated it) so fit with the putting weight on all round. Ugly bump but beatiful baby!!!! I went off all sweet stuff and couldn't bear the idea of chicken let alone the smell or taste.

DD2 currently 27weeks is a definite football all out front shaped bump. I haven't gone off anything but had general nasty nausea for 16weeks and puked - I don't puke.

But then DD was and still is an early bird as far as movement is concerned and number two is most definitely a late night party animal.

Quick update!

I had a boy Grin

My differences were that in my boy pg I had bleeding at the beginning, was more tired with more prominent sickness, my face wasn't puffy and you couldn't tell I was pg from the back right until due date (in fact 10 days beyond!). I also had leaky boobs early on (from about 6 months) with DD and with DS, the milk has just come in 3 days later.

As a result I am reinstating my new wives tale that puffy face in last months = girl, and no puffy face = boy Grin

Congratulations moominmarvellous you cant tell i'm pg from back but also hair on legs virtually non exsisent which meant to be girl so we'll see!!!!
