Health in Pregnancy Grant Problems ... Anyone else?

I sent off my form when I turned 25 weeks and I am still waiting for the grant. I'm now 32 weeks!!!

I have telephoned them (again) this morning and they're apparently still waiting for head office to process it. The time scale is now 6 weeks.

Anyone else currently experiencing this?

Presumably the Maternity Grant will continue for low income pregnant women.

As this is all very new (2008), I'm not surprised it's on the way out as a universal payment.

hi, i sent mine out at least 5 weeks ago...heard nothing still. i am due in 3 weeks..:o(

onimolap - no, it's discontinued for everyone, irrespective of income. A victim of the new government's many cuts.

Tootlesmummy · 15/10/2010 15:03

it should be cut.

onimolap · 15/10/2010 18:43

The Maternity Grant is being cut as well as the Health in Pregnancy Grant? I missed that announcement!

Taking the H in P is one thing, but a further £500 in Maternity Grant from the poorest is flabbergasting!

Tootlesmummy · 15/10/2010 20:12

No it isn't. If you can't afford to have them then don't.

ecuse · 15/10/2010 20:32

No, sorry onimpolap, I misread the question. Maternity Grant continues, HiP is cut for everyone.

lullabellesmummy · 15/10/2010 20:38

I think the sure start maternity is continuing, however it will only be paid for the first child and not any subsequent children. x
