I have loads of white and want some really bright little things not more white or pastels. Can anyone suggest anywhere please? I've managed to find one stripy blanket and that's it really.

I got a few funky coloured things in debenhams, lime green, and orange. I know they sound vile, but they arent, honest!

Search for Scandinavian brands! Lots of bright stuff, but also reasonably expensive. :P

Here is one website, but there are lots of others, search under the brand names... www.littlelollipopkids.co.uk/

IsItMeOr · 10/10/2010 20:40

Another vote for H&M. Their organic tops/bodies come in many colours and are fantastic value.

blueberryboybait · 10/10/2010 20:44

Debenhams is very funky at the moment i got some bright stuff from Asda the other day too. Jojo also hade some too.

CuppaTeaJanice · 10/10/2010 20:45

Why don't you buy a couple of packs of natural dyes in your favourite colours, and some fabric paints and iron-on motifs, and have fun creating some funky unique clothes from boring white things?!!

redandyellowandpinkandgreen · 11/10/2010 20:38

Thank you all, loads of places to look there!

I'd have a go at making my own but I don't have an artistic bone in my body and can imagine what I'd end up with!

JoJoMamanBebe and there is a mumsnet discount code

narmada · 11/10/2010 21:45

Second polarn o pyret. Expensive but stuff does last very well.

titferbrains · 12/10/2010 10:11

Nice thread, lots of brands I didn't know about.

My dd is very skinny so I pretty much only use gap as the clothes wash and last well, and fit her nicely. Next has some nice bits too but check carefully before you buy, my mum got me legging from there that had a hole in.

Expecting06112010 · 12/10/2010 12:13

H&M ive got some lovely bright bits from there!

megonthemoon · 12/10/2010 12:19

Another vote for Polarn o Pyret. Great colours and patterns, many are unisex so suitable for subsequent children (they wash and wear really well so are much better as handmedowns than most high street stuff). Socks are brilliant from there too.

I am using hand me downs from DS for DD now as nothing particularly boyish about the stuff he had, and I have bought second hand PoP from eBay very cheaply and it has been good quality.

Other Scandinavian brands are also great - expensive but wear well so can buy on eBay and be in great condition and/or buy new and use for subsequent children. Try looking for Katvig, ej sikke lej, Molo, IdaT

nordickids.co.uk has lots of these brands for full price.

Toby Tiger stuff is also very nice.

megonthemoon · 12/10/2010 12:22

titferbrains - the SCandinavian brands seem to be better cut than high street stuff for slim babies/toddlers. My DS is very slim and the bits he has from PoP or Katvig have always fitted him far better than Tesco, Next, Mothercare which always run out of length before he has even filled half of the width! He is 2.5 and still in 12-18 months from Next on some things because he is so slim, but he is age-appropriate in PoP :)

titferbrains · 12/10/2010 16:26

Meg, thanks for posting, will try to get to the westfield shop and have a look.
