I am only 9 weeks pregnant, but suffering dreadfully with morning sickness and dizzy spells. This weather is making things 10 times worse, when I lie down on the bed I end up getting so hot it makes me feel worse. My electric fan is following me around the house!!

jus out of curiosity, does anyone know if today has topped 37 degrees?

And sympathy to all you pregnant people.

Claireandrich · 10/08/2003 22:18

Just passing on my sympathies to all you pregnant ladies dealing with this heat. A friend of mine is heavily pregnant and is struggling. At least she has gone on maternity leave now.

Good lock and I hope you all manage to cool down soon.

You might like to try magicool - spray I used this last year when pregnant and stuck in a classroom with 30 sweaty smelly students and windows that are screwed shut.. it is brilliant and helped cool me down.

WideWebWitch · 10/08/2003 23:15

tigermoth, yes it has, saw the news briefly and it did hit 100. Yuk.

I've been feeling v.sorry for myself all day in this heat at 34 wks pg it is impossible ....but got to thinking imagine going into labour today.

I hope none of our pregnant roll call started labour today

Is it just me or does it seem to get hotter in the evening ??

Bekki · 10/08/2003 23:52

I was just saying that yesterday ANGELMOTHER, it makes no sense does it, but it does appear to get hotter at night.

M2T · 10/08/2003 23:56

Boring science input ....

It appear to get hotter in the evening as the cloud cover increases. It keeps the heat in. The temp is much lower, but the humidity increases slightly and makes it horrible conditions to try to sleep in.

If the sky remained clear all night then the temp would drop rapidly and we'd probably have to put our heating on!

This heat is killing me and I'm off to try to sleep now.

night

I have not read the whole of this thread but please can I sympathise with everybody here. I am 7.5 weeks pregnant with morning sickness and yes the heat has been unbearable. I feel like I am stuck in the "Beetlejuice" desert without being able to get out, it is truly horrible.
