Cracking headache/dizzy at 13 weeks

Anything to worry about do you think? I know later in pregnancy if you're flushed/bad headache it could be pre-eclampsia but is it anything to worry about at just 13 weeks? Any advice appreciated as feel dreadful :(

i got bad headaches on and off around this time (and still do now at 20 weeks to a lesser degree). If you're worried about pre-ec then get your bp checked, but think it's highly unlikely that early (that's what I was told when I worried the same thing anyway). I found paracetamol and drinking lots helped but still there were times when I just had to go to bed a sleep as it was too bad. Mine seemed to last for 2 - 4 days at a time and then dissapear for a week or so before starting again. I have been told you can take nurofen occasionally during the 2nd trimester.

have you been drinking enough? - i sound like my mum! [emabrrassed]

seriously i get that when dehydrated and not pg. if you've been sicky then it's more likely.

have a drink and a lie down and see how it goes. if it doesn't improve call mw/ gp and ask for a quick bp check/ their opinion.

I had this too in the first trimester/beginning of the 2nd (I'm 19 weeks now). Horrible migraines with aura. Drinking helps and caffeine also helped me a lot (I restricted my caffeine intake drastically since becoming pregnant so I reckoned 1 cup of coffee when I could just feel the headache coming could not harm).

Are you stressed/anxious/tired?

This is not to say that you shouldn't call your mw though, they can check your bp just for your peace of mind. I mentioned my migraines to my mw and she didn't seem overly concerned.

Thanks - I'll try drinking more water though I think I've been drinking enough but hard to remember!

I keep needing the toilet all the time but sometimes there is not really a lot to go... is that normal or do you think it's a sign of infection just wondered if the two were related?

I need to speak to the midwife anyway to sort out my next appointment so perhaps I'll mention it anyway Though I don't need to see her for another 3 weeks
