I have no idea about cots. We need a small one and we found this one (see link). Does anyone know of this range or have any opinion?

I know it's not a cot as such (although it is used instead of one) but the best thing I ever bought has been my Amby Baby Hammock. My younger two babies slept in it until they were about 1year and then went straight to a bed. It is awesome! It bounces and swings, and doesn't take up all that much room, and is excellent for babies who suffer with reflux/colic because it keeps them slightly tilted up when they sleep, and the natural curve created by the weight of the baby supports their back perfectly and helps prevent the flat head some newborns get sleeping on a hard cot mattress. Here's a link if you want to see more about it...

Have you tried looking in the reviews section on MN?

If you're getting a non-standard size, check you can get mattresses and sheets to fit it easily.

Also, be aware that a narrower cot will mean the baby grows out of it quicker.

It looks quite similar to the one we have, in features and prices.
dd is 16 mo and still uses it, I don't know what age they go up to.

The various heights are good as I couldn't bend over too low at the start (c-section), we're on the highest level now and have been since dd can sit up & pull herself up onto the rails.

The drop rail sounds good but is always up in our house as once the baby is sleeping you do not dare bring it up (the noise wakes the baby up...)

It looks like you need to buy the mattress on top of that.

I bought a few duvet/side thingies/pillow case sets and never ever used them....

Ikea cots are smaller I think.

Why do you need a smaller one? If its to fit in your own room I would go for a crib or moses basket initially and then a bigger cot when the baby goes into its own room. Just means the baby won't grow out of it so quickly. My 23 month old is still in her cot and not getting out any time soon....

another vote for the amby hammock. mumsnet reviews section is good too.
