Sorry for the garbled title - trying to get the gist across without going into great depths.
The issue is that I had placenta praevia with my twin pregnancy and recurrant bleeding/hospital stay/emergency caesarean, etc., etc. I'm now 13 weeks pregnant with my third baby (second pregnancy) and concerned about the risks of getting it again but with bells on. I know the risk is slightly increased this time but I foolishly made the mistake of asking the sonographer at my nuchal scan where the placenta looked to be this time (was praying for high and at the back). Anyway, both of the twins' placentas were posterior last time and, having heard that placentas never grow from the same site, it shouldn't come as a shock to hear that the placenta is anterior (at the front) and over my cervix. The sonographer said not to worry as it was hard to tell at this stage and the "99%" of placentas are very low at 12 weeks, but I'm very concerned that this puts my placenta in prime position for accreta i.e. to grow into the site of the old caesarean scar.
I know there's no point in worrying as there's nothing I can find out until 20 weeks but I just wondered if anyone had had this, or had praevia in their first pregnancy and went on to a hassle-free second pregnancy? I really need some words of encouragement as I'm beginning to worry that I've seriously shot myself in the foot by getting pregnant again.
Note to self: Never ask a sonographer about placentas at 12 weeks! You just sign yourself up for 8 weeks of worry.
