How do you do perennial massage?

I had a 3rd dregee tear with DS and I have to see the consultant to discuss this birth. I want to avoid a c section if I can and I have heard that perennial massage is suppose to be good.

How do you do it? I have to admit I'm not keen on putting my fingers down there. Blush

I think you might want to try Googling Perineal - perennial is a term referring to long-lasting shrubs.

I am off to find out what you get if you Google perennial massage Grin.

I think it would go on for a long time! Grin

ROFL. Its not that bad potato. Me and DP made joke of it when we did it with DD and I didn't tear at all with her, although she was only 6lb 3oz. We still laugh about the days of perineal massage!

I did realise I had spelt it wrong but I couldn't be bothered to look up the proper spelling. Smile

DS was 8lbs 11oz and a forceps birth so I'm not really surprised I tore.
