And it was awful. Was fine when I started off, then an hour in and for the rest of the journey I felt so sick, it was awful! I know my anxiety about feeling sick made it more severe, but it was exactly the same on the way back.

I have to go up again in 3 weeks or so, but I am already panicking about it. I am getting so annoyed with myself, I am coming up to 23 weeks pregnant and NEED to be able not to feel shit all the time. I am thinking of trying acupuncture as that has been recommended by my dr, has anyone else tried this?

Why don't your parents come to you if driving for seven hours makes you feel appalling?

Or go by train?

My dad had a heart attack in June and he is very nervy staying away from home. Plus I have to get my dd up there every so often as I use my parents house has a stop off when I am taking her up to see her dad.

I could go by train, but that is very expensive, £70 for me and then a child fare for my dd, wouldn't be able to afford that very often. I can get there and back by car spending no more than £50.

Rocklover have you looked into getting a family railcard . It can make a HUGE difference to train fares. I use Thetrainline for my tickets but others may know better.

Hi Rocklover - i have heard from a friend that the acupuncture really worked for her, so why not give it a shot? Fingers crossed for you! Plus, you will probably be feeling much better in 3 weeks. My nausea tended to dissappear anywhere between 16 weeks and 24 weeks in my 3 pregnancies.
Good luck!

I have thought about that Trumpton, it would help in getting my dd to her dad in London (I live in Devon) if I could go by train. The journey is just going to get harder when I have a small baby to take along with me (my dp doesn't drive and often can't come with us as we have to leave before he finishes work).

I am going to contact some acupuncture practioners today to see about prices, and hopefully make an appt. Sorry about my stupid post, I was all upset and panicky this morning, but I am beginning to feel a little more logical now. Bloody pregnancy hormones have taken over (especially as my Mum started crying when I left theirs yesterday, saying I live too far away), I have turned into an emotional cripple!

Hmm Taunton to London with rail card £49 and without £70. Thats just putting random dates in for October. Worth a try if you are going to be doing more than one journey.

(Don't know where you are in Devon I just picked on the only place I know.)
