I'm being treated to one later and just wondered how you lie/ sit? And do you have to get naked?!

Lucky you Smile

It varies depending on what the masseur usually does and what is comfortable for you.

I usually lie on my side and then turn over to the other side half way through.

I wear my knickers and have two towels covering the rest of me (but it is harder for them to stay in place when you are lying on your side).

Enjoy!

Thanks Marmite, Oh my god that was heaven!! She wrapped me all up in a blanket too (probably because the towels didn't quite cver everything..!!)
I swear pregnant women should be entitled to those every day of pregnancy!! :)

Hi dappymoo, I'm thinking of getting one too. How did you lie and what areas did the masseuse work on? Did she use oils? Sounds heavenly Smile

mum2oneloudbaby · 25/09/2010 15:24

I've had a few over my 2 pregnancies and I have sat on a chair leaning onto the bed wrapped in either a towelling robe or a blanket.

It's fab (wonder if I can squeeze another one in?)

MiniMarmite · 25/09/2010 15:25

Glad you enjoyed it Dappymoo. Have you tried reflexology? In some ways even better (except I always fall asleep within a few minutes and start snoring which is a bit Blush)!

dappymoo · 25/09/2010 16:04

Yeah I think I may have started snoring in the massage...!! Ooh reflexology sounds good too...

Hey hoola, She used just plain oils and checked about allergies etc beforehand, I lay on one side while she worked on that, then the other side, then I lay on my back with the top of the bed reclined(inclined?) a bit, it was really comfy throughout because she wrapped up all the uncovered bits, and put pillows between my legs etc.
The "bump massage" part was an optional thing that I went for, but mostly she worked on back, legs, feet and arms. Absoloutely amazing I want to go back now!

Oh my, I can not wait to have one!
I'm a recently qualified masseuse too, and am very tempted to train in it. Once my own pregnancies are behind me I can vicariously enjoy the big bumps of others :)

BertieBotts · 26/09/2010 14:12

Did you do the bump massage? Did the baby like it? :)

dappymoo · 27/09/2010 08:06

Yeah the bump massage was cool, I was quite oblivious and semi-asleep but apparently the baby followed her hands around!!

I had a pregnancy massage in a place in Soho called Cucumba last year in which at the end they leave you to have a half hour nap. it was wonderful. I might go back even if not pg, it was available to anyone. would be great to sneak off from shopping in the melee of the West End and have a snooze...

BellaBearisWideAwake · 27/09/2010 08:26

I had a course of them when pg with DS, with someone who needed people to practise on (so very discounted). They were heavenly. Unfortunately DS came early so I only had two out of four. And I fell asleep each time!
