Movement of baby at 33 weeks

Hi,

I know this question is asked a million times but in the last 2 days I have noticed the baby is not as active as he has been in the weeks before. I particularly don't feel many kicks but feel more rolls which sometimes make me feel like my insides are moving around. He used to be particularly active at night but the last two nights he has been much more quiet. The odd movement but nothing like before.

I know you feel less movement towards the end but I thought this was around 36-37 weeks not 33 weeks.

I am starting to get worried but don't want to bother going to see the midwife if it's normal.

Any advice?

Thanks!

They say you should feel at least 10 kicks, and if you are worried i would see the midwife, thats what she is there for and it gives you peace of mind.

When i had my last one,i never felt him at all during the morning,i took the kids to school and popped down the hospital,he still hadnt moved, and as soon as they put the montor on me,he started kicking and just to hear the hearbeat was such a relief..

It wouldn't do any harm to call the midwife if you are worried, but just to say don't forget room is getting scarcer in there so baby may not be able to stretch out as much. I am 33 weeks also, but still getting plenty of the same, no slowing down here! I'd say if you are at all concerned, there is no harm in ringing the midwife just to check it out.

Thanks lilmama. I would feel 10 kicks a day definitely, but actually not so much kicks now but definite movement. More pushing or rolling. But it's not as consistent.

I think I will see how I go tonight and tomorrow and if I am still worried I will head to the midwife to put my mind at ease. I had my 32 week appointment a week ago and he was fit and healthy so I shouldn't worry, but I can't help it!

I was actually wondering if the opposite meant something was wrong.....my baby never seems to keep still and I am 34 weeks....I thought movement was supposed to slow down by now......she's forever jabbing, poking, stretching etc. I guess that either way, any concerns should be discussed with your midwife. I'd rather be a PITA than ignore something that caused me concern....

Tanmu 82 - that was me last week! He was moving all the time and really pushing against my stomach. I kept feeling hard bits poking put from my stomach. It's just the last two days he has slowed down. Maybe I need to eat something sweet to rev him up!

or an ice cold drink perhaps?

Of course, having now posted this he has decided to make an appearance again. A fair of movement this moving so I think I am feeling happier.

Thanks everyone! Sometimes it's just reassurance you need.

my daughter is on the stepping stones programme,we have a trained midwife who comes every 2 weeks, its brilliant, she doesnt do antenatal care, just goes through different stuff each week, its really intresting.

anyway,I asked her and she said the same as me about the 10 movements, she said they shouldnt slow down, even when baby doesnt have as much room towards the end,you should still get at least 10 kicks, anyway glad to hear he is on the move again x
