Hi there... New to this forum but would appreciate any advice. I received confirmation from three tests last week that I'm pregnant however, I'm terrified that I'm going to miscarry / have an ectopin pregnancy / end up just having a chemical pregnancy. Am I nuts?! Also - not many symptoms - bit of sickness, fatigue and sore boobs but am worried I'm just imagining it... I mean, if I didn't know what I know, would I feel like that? Anyone else like there been in the same position?

don't worry too much, with dd1 I didn't really get sick/have sore boobs til 8 weeks or so, with dd2 it was even later.

NoMilkToday · 14/09/2010 13:40

Sounds completely normal.
I've only had mild nausea this time. At ten weeks the tiredness hit me, but until then, I was fine. :)

No - I didn't even realise I was pregnant until I did a test at approx. 7 weeks - due to my age I assumed I was going through the menopause !

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

I spent most of my first trimester with DD convinced that something terrible was going to go wrong/that I wasn't really pregnant. You're not nuts, just pregnant and freaking out in a very normal way.

My pregnancy symptoms didn't really kick in until 7-8 wks first time and then wore off at about 11 weeks. At which point I panicked all over again. I found the first few months the worst, once you get further down the line and can feel the baby move it's much less stressful imo.

Portofino · 14/09/2010 13:50

I had no symptoms at all really - apart from fatigue. I was quite shocked at the 12 week scan that there really WAS a baby in there! I had half convinced myself I was imagining it.

Hi there,

I'm the same, I am 6 weeks and not really feeling any different to normal and having the same thoughts and fears as you Lara - my husband and GP have both said to me to stop worrying, not everyone gets sickness or extreme symptoms and you should enjoy it (easier said than done!) - however they might suddenly appear next week so make the most of it :)

I keep veering from thinking its all ok to thinking that there's nothing in there and I've had a missed MC or something.

The silly thing is that once we've had our 12 week scan there'll be something else to worry about!

I keep on telling myself to let things take their course....it doesnt stop me from Googling every little twinge I am feeling!

Maybe you could go for an early scan if you are worried? I think I might go for one in a week or so when I will be just under 8 weeks (hopefully unless something happens in the meantime)

Congratulations and good luck - everything will be fine! xx

At 6 weeks I felt better than I had my whole life! However...If you are like me it will all change in week 7 (ish) so enjoy feeling well!

I also agree with walkonby, I didn't test postive until I was (depite test after test) 5 wks and had pains one side and was convinced something bad was happening, I was constantly online trying to find out what might be wrong.

Then I worried about miscarrying within 12 wks and didn't tell my family unti I was well over this period, then I was measuring small for weeks (again a non issue I caught up) well...I wish I had not worried like I did, all is well my EDD is tomorrow. Hope for the best and enjoy your pregnancy :)

Entirely.

I am 37 and have had very few (if any)pregnancy symptoms

I wouldn't worry too much

JoEW · 14/09/2010 16:46

Yup, you don't need to worry. I am now at nine weeks and have very mild symptoms now and again but they come and go and there are so many times that I wonder if I really am pregnant. I had an early scan yesterday and all is fine in there! Some people just don't have all the extremes that others do. I wished I did feel really sick and tired, as I would at least know that I was pregnant but I am sure there are people out there feeling terrible and thinking, 'no you don't, lucky cow'!

kiwidreamer · 14/09/2010 16:53

Same here, almost 7 weeks and apart from mild dizziness (leaping around the bouncy castle with DS at soft play LOL wont do that again in a hurry!), sore boobs and a bit more tired than normal - I feel normal. Really nerve wrecking thinking of the next 6 weeks or so until the scan, absolutely terrified they will tell me I've had a missed miscarriage. But there is really nothing to do but carry on with life and look after yourself and try and try and remember that in all liklihood everything is just fine (easier said than done I know!!)

I didnt have MS with DS1 either so while it can be a somewhat 'reassuring' symptom from what I hear not having it is a blessing!

LaraMi · 14/09/2010 16:57

Thanks ever so much Ladies - I really appreciate it. I think my husband fears I am going to be a paranoid lunatic for the next nine months (I have already given up expressing my fears to him). Like Walkonby I am forever googling every twinge I feel (which is awful when you're in an office with 10 hour per day access to the Internet!) I did start to think too that I have magically miscarried - I keep running to the loo to look for signs! Then I worry that because I am worrying I will definitely miscarry. Glad to know there are other mums-to-be out there too with the same thoughts! Support appreciated xx

Hi, I posted a similar question yesterday. I really do not feel pregnant at all!! It's still very early days for me (literally am just a couple of days late) but I can't help comparing this to previous pregnancies. With DD and DS I was feeling really rough before AF was even due. I am continuously worrying, but trying to be positive - I don't fancy being sick and chasing after to young children!!

We can worry together if you like!
