Seriously, I dread having to go and lie down now....am 38+3 and feel pretty ok all day and then I will go up to bed at 10ish and cannot get comfy and start getting period like aches and back aches....which of course amount to nothing!

Just a winge really - but would be nice to know am not alone.

All the pillows help - but have so many am afraid I might lose DP under all of them one night! Lol.x

Yes I know what you mean, I look forward to getting up my SPD is worse for lying in one position for too long also.

I'm also 38+3 and I am so fed up! I'm exhaused but cannot get to sleep through the back ache, braxton hicks, intense pressure and feeling like i've got a grapefruit in my pelvis.

Plus once i'm down getting up is a huge effort, right now i feel like the walrus in the new argos adverts Grin

Oh gosh you poor things, I remember this feeling. The last three weeks of pregnancy are so hard. I used to have to read until 4am or I couldn't sleep a wink as my legs used to go numb because of my mahoosive bump. If it's any consolation I slept so much better, and on my front :) bliss, as soon as DS was born. Even with the night wakings as soon as you laid back down again it was wonderful to be able to fall asleep so quickly and comfortably. Good luck and remember this too shall pass.

I think my husband does..!!!! Several times I've flopped myself over in the night (with the turning circle of a hump-back whale) and landed on top of him! Oops...

Bumperlicious · 09/09/2010 15:41

Yep, especially as I was suffering from insomnia from about 3-6am. Seems to be a bit better now I have started going to bed later (11.30-12) so still not getting much sleep but less depressing than being wide awake for 3 hours.

FWIW I am sleeping on a feather and down mattress topper folded in half plus a double duvet, set so I can wedge the ends under my bump either way I turn. Anything thicker under my bump just makes me feel a bit sick.

Tis v hot though!

DillyDora · 09/09/2010 15:50

O crikey...I'm having bad nights at only 34 weeks! Have SPD which is really not fun and worse at night. I'm just about getting to grips with pillow wedging, I don't have a very big bump so feel a bit daft but perhaps it will help? Looks like it's all set to get really fun, eh?!

2ndDestiny · 09/09/2010 16:43

Me too, I used to love bed and hated getting up in the morning... Now I can't get to sleep cause of hip pain/sore bump/restless legs/being too hot/constantly having to get up for a wee, and then in the early morning I just end up getting up due to hip pain(again)/stiff sore fingers/heartburn etc. from lying down. Oh and needing yet another wee. And feeling hungry but slightly nauseous as well. I really am sooo grateful I have not had SPD or any real complications (honest), but I am looking forward to the baby coming OUT now... Poppet45 I hope what you say about sleep post-birth is true, it's what's keeping me going through these last weeks!

Bonners · 11/09/2010 11:21

I totally relate. Nights are hell and everytime I wake up to pee or heave my bump over to the other side I look at the clock and feel despair that it has only been 2 hours since the last time.
I'm 39+4 and it feels like bubs is trying to stand up and poke his head out my bottom which is incredibly painful.

I am praying I don't go over my EDD and REALLY looking forward to post-preg sleep, even if it is broken!

HappyAsASandboy · 11/09/2010 18:26

I know how you feel. I'm 32 weeks with twins and have been refering to my bed as 'the hell bed' for a few weeks now. I have no fewer than nine pillows in it for propping various parts of me up and I still can't get comfortable. DH moved to the spare room about 3 months ago as there wasn't room for him and the pillows.

I am so looking forward to being able to sleep. I really don't think I'll care that it'll be for short periods that are dictated by the babies rather than me - I'll jnust be happy to be comfortable.

Only another 6 weeks or so to go Smile

Doodleydoo · 11/09/2010 18:28

I used to sleep on the sofa as it was more comfy - it fortunately is quite a long sofa but I could only really sleep in one position on it!

FloraFinching · 11/09/2010 18:29

I am only 34 weeks, and feel the same. Agree with bumper that no matter how tired I am, an early night is usually unwise, and leads to long periods of sleeplessness. I turn in at about 11.30 and that helps a little bit.

If I go even 5 minutes overdue I will cry.

DillyDora · 11/09/2010 20:34

flora if I go overdue they'll have to sedate me till the baby comes...

doodley might try the sofa...

Happyas good luck with your twins!

PussinJimmyChoos · 11/09/2010 20:39

I can remember when I was near term with DS and had really bad carpal tunnel syndrome..would go numb on one side...would have to get out of bed...walk around to ease numbness, pee and then try to go back to sleep...half way through the walking around, DH would sit bolt upright with a freaked out 'are you in labour' and then crash back down....

I blame the midwife...'you can have physiotherapy for it but by time appt comes through, baby will be here'

Oh I'll just frigging suffer until then shall I?? Hmm
