really fed up with false labour and BH

39 weeks pregnant and had two false labours. At 38 + 5 we went to a wedding 2 hours drive away and booked a hotel room, at 10pm contractions started at 20 minutes apart, painful but not unbearable, I assumed it was BH and continued with the night until 1am when we went back to the room, dp went to sleep but my contractions continued, at 2pm they were 10 minutes apart so i called the hospital, who said I had to do what i felt was right, perhaps give it another hour and see what happens. being 2 hrs drive away I wanted to make sure I was home so at 3.15am I woke dp and asked him to drive us back. on the way back contractions were 7min apart all the way home, but as soon as i got through the door the contractions stopped completely. really frustrated, still getting lots of painful BH, and quite regular but no sign of labour. the pain is starting to get to get to me now, esp since it has been going on for 3 days. any advice or similar experiences?

Oh gawd I do symapthise; am 38+6 with DC4 and have had very similar. Last week, 7 mins apart, then 20, then nothing. Grrr.

Been having a ridiculous amount of cervical pressure and really full on braxtons every evening, for about a week now.

In fact, as we speak, it's all going on! I now just assume each time it's false, as is easier to not get excited. I have never had anything like this in any of my other pg's: I can only hope that all the fannying about is thinning cervix nicely, making for a nice easy birth!!

Hope you don't have to wait much longer before the real deal: just to let you know, you're not alone. Smile

thanks catbus, it's really nice to know i'm not alone, what happened to painless bh hey? I'm getting close to tears with them as they seem endless and a complete waste of time. really should go to bed but don't feel like it. Sorry you're going through the same thing, it's no fun at all. didn't have these first time round and had a very painful full on long labour so I'm hoping like you that this means it will be easier this time round. much appreciated your message x x

Oh dear - yes you have my sympathy too - I had four days of pre-labour/ painful BH with my first. Tiring and frustrating! Paracetemol takes the edge off, I find, and helped me to sleep.

I had the same last pregnancy, they got to 5 mins apart at 1 point and then stopped 36 hrs later - I thought my waters had gone so was induced but it transpired to be only the hind waters - really hope your's speed up soon
