I keep waking in the night with reflux. Am trying to sleep sitting up a bit more but keep sliding down. It's also not helping the SPD.

Does anyone have any miraculous suggestions ?

Pleeeeeaaaassssseeee :)

Hi nymphadora, not sure how pregnant you are but I have been taking Gaviscon with Ranitidin (spelling??!) tablet once a day. It really works, and i did check with my GP that it was ok to take during pregnancy. I couldn't stomach the Gaviscon liquid or the plain tablets that you chew or suck, this is just a pill that you drink with water and it really did help. But I don't know if you are aloud to take it in the first 3 months. Hope this helps!

Gaviscon! It's become my nightime saviour. Between really itchy skin and intense reflux/heartburn, I have had too many sleepless nights. Now, if I feel it coming on, I cheww a couple of peppermint gaviscon tablets :)

33 weeks!

Can't stand gaviscon liquid,it just makes me throw up. Been taking normal tablets but will ask about the others.

During the day I eat ice which seems to work but once I stop for bed the reflux comes back

I can't stand the liquid either, which is why I chew the tablets.... a large glass of milk sometimes helps too though...

Gaviscon & banana milkshake have been my saviour! currently 32+4

I can't stand gaviscon either, yuck. I'm on fennel tea [hot or cold], a friend suggested gripe water with Dill Oil and that helps as well.

Tums are fine throughout the day, but at night, they leave a gritty taste in my mouth and I end up drinking water and ruining the help.

are you also propped to the left if possible I find that helps my reflux. I also have a spd and finding a comfortable sleeping position that doesn't aggravate either the reflux or spd has been virtually impossible.
