Hello everyone,

Firstly, sorry for the bombardment of new threads. It's my first pregnancy and I just have so many questions and I can't see my GP until later in the week.

Rather than morning sickness, I've had, ahem, morning 'runs'. It's only during the morning, but I've had it for the last couple of months. I haven't changed my diet and since I'm only 5 weeks gone, it's been happening since before the pregnancy.

I phoned my GP this morning to see if I could bring my appointment on Thursday forward, but they said no, since it's always busy after BH weekends. Why don't they work bank holidays?!!

Do you think this is anything worry about?

Thanks again x

No I don't think you need to worry at all.

If you were bleeding and in pain that would be different but as you aren't then I think you can rest easy and wait for your Doctors appointment.

Thanks daisystone. I phoned NHS Direct earlier just to put my mind at rest and they seem to think I've got IBS, unrelated to the pregnancy. I'll mention it to the GP when I see her, but I'm feeling a bit calmer now!

Hi, i have had this with all my dc currently on pregnancy 3 and i seam to get instead of actully being sick lol

I wouldn't worry unduly about it, especially if you don't have signs of blood in your stools (old blood, which is dark and can look like ground coffee, is more of an issue than red blood). But do see the doctor about it when you can.

FWIW, my (consultant diagnosed) IBS has got worse with pregnancy, so if it is IBS, yours might too.

Thanks xkatyx and japhrimel. I just seem to be worrying about everything now, must seem so neurotic!

I had exactly the same thing, I think if I remember correctly it lasted up to about 9 weeks or something (and my digestive system is still weird at 25 weeks). Basically, the hormones and whatnot might make your digestive system go a bit funny for a while.

And worrying about everything is also normal, again, the hormones.....

Congrats!!

Thanks Goodluckbear. Tell me about the hormones - been on the phone in tears to my husband already today! I think he's in for a long ride... xx

Congrats CaringForPod! I have a dreadful tummy , especially on a morning, I drink peppermint tea and that definitely helps. I try to avoid bread, eggs and tomatoes - I've narrowed these fella's down as culprits of 'setting me off'. Might be worth avoiding a few bits and pieces to see if you can narrow it down? x

Thanks JudyPink. Seeing my GP this morning for first appointment, so it's one of many on a list to talk about!

I have had the same thing as you CaringFor Pod - have to run to the bathroom each morning. I keep reading that I am meant to be constipated :)
