Seriously....I have to eat every 2 hours just to keep my stomach reasonably settled and a nice salad will not touch the sides...it needs to be stodgy comfort food before stomach even stops protesting...

What is scientific reason behind this, given that we are not s'posed to be eating for two blah blah

Yep, I agree, with Baba and PussinJimmychoos, I just can't find anything that appeals at the moment. We went to our favourite restaurant yesterday and everything tasted wrong to me.. My dh says I shouldn't complain as I so wanted to be pregnant, so am currently channelling half of my nausea onto feeling really cross with him!

My first trimester was a bit like this: very erratic eating, wanting stodge, hungry all the time and needed a constant supply of food to keep the gagging at bay. And that food couldn't be veg!

Once the sickness ended, it was a lot easier and I have been eating less and less. Now I only crave hot chocolate and can drink the 'light' version.

Now, cheddar/edam or any form of heavy cheese makes my stomach churn. I'm eating bread maybe once per week (and not massively keen on carbs generally, have to make sure I force them in) and am obsessed with green salad leaves, spinach, pak choi etc.

i didnt eat cheese for the first seven months, and now i cant get enough of it.

The body is a mystery, just try to enjoy it, i guess.

In my first trimester the thought of greasy stodgy food made me gag, but I was really bad with morning sickness and I lost a stone despite growing a bump. By my second trimester I was eating 2 teas and anything else that even looked like food, now Im in my third trimester Im back to struggling to eat full meals and sticking with just something whenever Im hungry rather than 3 set meals a day!
