Hi all
I am 10 weeks pregnant. Yesterday I had an extremely heavy bleed - complete floods of red blood. I naturally assumed the worst with so much blood and took myself into emergency gynae. However on scanning me they saw the baby is fine, heartbeat and moving and sac all fine. The sonographer showed me a large black area indicating more blood still to come out and told me to be on bed rest this week and return for another scan on friday.
I am completely confused and scared. On the one hand should I be positive and assume as the baby seemed fine it may be okay. On the other hand what on earth could cause so much bleeding - it felt like a whole period in a few hours and the blood continues - and could it be a bad sign I am about to miscarry?
Has anyone had anything similar or know what may cause this.
I have two lovely DC already and this is my fifth pregnancy. I thought by previously having a miscarriage and a pregnancy with chromosomal abormalities that I'd experienced most of what could go wrong :(. I feel so distressed about this and am just seeking some company from others who may know more. Thanks.
