I just want to know that everything will be alright with this pg. I had a m/c a couple of years ago and since then have had a lovely dd, I am now 5 weeks pg and veering between despair and joy. I have constant pains in my tummy and am not sleeping well worrying about having another m/c. How on earth am I going to get through the next few weeks?

((((hugs)))) I know what you are going through, having been there myself and have been very lucky this time round. Can you get a refferal to an early pregnancy assesment unit/get an early scan to put your mind at rest? It is worth asking your GP I did and it was such a relief when they told me everything was ok. Will keep my fingers crossed for you and send loads of positive mumsnet vibes your way.

Withchild, I am 6 weeks pregnant today and can fully relate to your post. I had a 'textbook' pregnancy and deivery with dd1 and when I had a miscarriage last December was totally shocked. I felt really stupid too as we had told all our friends and family, we were so excited. Now, 9 months later, here we are and yes, I AM worried but I realise also that I cannot change anything. Nature will take it's course, and all we can do is wait and accept whatever comes our way. For me personally, I won't feel confident until I have had my scan and bloods done at Bart's and that result is not given until around 17 weeks. I am really trying just to concentrate on dd at the moment and think I might feel better once all her various activities commence again in September, should take my mind off things a bit. I also find that talking things through with dh or my mum really helps. Sounds obvious but it does help.

I am sorry I can't give any constructive advice, but I wanted you know you are certainly not alone in worrying. I am probably one of the world's biggest worriers and can almost laugh at myself sometimes for the amount of time I spend worrying. Hope you feel better soon, I am always around on the April ante-natal thread, Helen.

We are here to listen, support and help where we can. Unburden yourselves to the agony aunts of mumsnet if there is no one in the real world you feel you can talk to.

thank you everyone. I know will have to try not to think about it. Pacinofan, yes, I am sure when my other children are back at school I will have more to think about and that might help. Your attitude of what will be will be is very inspiring - but I do get moments of panic. Thank you all.

Withchild - I know exactly how you are feeling. I have had 2 early mcs and began bleeding at 7 weeks with this one. I had a scan and everything was fine. I am now 16weeks and still get the odd unusual twinge from time to time and always seem to have period type pains which were very worrying in the beginning. I know you won't stop worrying, and I can't either! But you can't let your past experiences take over this pregnancy. I had to physically tell myself to start enjoying it or it will all come and go too soon

Hi withchild.
I am 5 weeks pregnant too, had a Missed M/C in april. I know exactly how your are feeling, seems to be a lot of others in the same position. With this in mind I have started a new thread on this here here hopefully we can support each other , and help others out who experience this in the future.
