Panicking about movement

I'm 31+2 and noticed recently that baby is still moving as much but the movement tends to be slower and less vigorous than earlier on. Feels more like she is rolling about and shifting rather than big kicks and punches. Is this because there is less room or should I be worried??

probably just that there's less room, but if you have any concerns AT ALL about movement, see your MW, they will check the heart rate etc just to be on the safe side.

I would agree with oldmum, after 30 weeks your baby goes through a series of growth spurts so there is much less room in your uterus. I'm 33 weeks atm and my LO just rolls around all the time as she has no room to kick properly. If the amount of movement is the same, I wouldn't think there is anything to worry about. However, it's always worth giving your midwife a call - it's what they're there for, and if it will ease your mind to hear your LO's strong heartbeat, I would recommend it. Hope all stays well with you :)

Hi I am 31+1 so a day behind you! and also have these worries this is my 3 DS and no matter how many children you have you worry!

This website may help as it says if you are at all worried ring your midwife or hospital they will always take you seriously! with my first I think I went in to be monitored about 3/4 times and they were lovely everytime better to be safe than sorry x

So I went to the midwife and clearly dd was just trying to show me up! They strapped on the monitor and she started thrashing about and kicking probably more than ever! They took the monitor off... She stopped! Talk about embarrassing! They must have thought I was a neurotic first time mummy!!! Which I am I guess :)

But its better to check if your worried and they are used to women worrying! maybe worth following the advise on Chloe's kicks and monitor your bubs at the same time everyday. I know that from 9 - 10 in the evening my little one is very awake and moving about if that changed I would go in and be monitored and he is my 3rd! I went to school with Chloe's Dad and so this has really hit home this time around.
