DD2 is 31 weeks pregnant, her DP has been a complete PITA, texting XP, planning to go on holiday with his mates when he can't even cover the bills. She finished with him and was distraught didn't eat anything for two days.

They sorted out their differences, he basically agreed to do whatever she wants, and take some responsibility.

Today she woke up and her urine is very very dark, went to the Dr thinking she had a UTI, they didn't find anything but thought that the colour of the urine was darker than any they had seen before.

She was sent to the hospital for monitoring, the heart beat was good but the fetal movements were considered less than normal. She has to go back to be monitored again tomorrow.

Do you think the fetal movements could be less due to low blood pressure, as she has not been eating? Her baby had been exceptionally active up until now.

Her pulse is fast, blood pressure normal, protein in her urine.

Sorry for long post, I am driving my self mad. I thought there was nothing worse than when I lost my baby. But the thought of my baby losing her baby is horrendous.

lynli - I'm sorry I have no experience of this at all, I just didn't want to leave you unanswered. My friend had limited movements etc at 32 wks (don't know about urine) and her daughter is now 2, they hospitalised her for the last couple of weeks of her pregnancy before doing a C section at 35 wk. I hope that is slightly reasuring and everything goes ok today. She is very lucky she has you x

nothing informed to add but thinking of you - agree she is lucky to have you.

FWIW I don't think the not eating thing would have caused harm, babies are very tough. Was she drinking fluids, did that contribute to dark pee?

Hope all resolves itself, and her "D"P stops being an arse. It must be very worrying for you.

Thanks for your replies.

Just got back from hospital DD has keytones in her urine, so I think it is lack of food and low blood sugar.

is she ok? have no idea what keytones are. I'm guessing they don't measure the baby's musical ability!! lol!!!

Ketones in urine indicates dehydration, which would also explain the dark urine.

I'm guessing they also told her she needs to keep drinking water to sort this out?

It can't be very severe dehydration or she would need to be hospitalised.

Glad she is being monitored, hope she improves soon.
