Hi am 24 weeks today this is my first baby and just wondering how much she should be moving about? have read that the next 4 weeks are their most active but am sure she has got less active I still feel her but I am expecting to feel her bouncing about all the time, I know this is unlikely but just not sure what to expect x

At this stage the movements will still be quite slight but what the baby will be doing is starting to get into a wake/sleep routine. It may well be that you are not noticing the babies movement if you are active. They tend to find us moving around comforting and it rocks them to sleep.

If you really are concerned go up to your Maternal assessment unit. They will put a monitor on to check baby out and reassure you. I'm 38 wks and visited mine this week for exactly the same reasons as you. Nothing to worry about and the little so and so started doing flips when they put the machine on lol.

Take care

Sorry my midwife says at least 10 movements in 24 hours, although that is at my stage, not sure if its the same at yours.

You only need to monitor movements after 28 weeks. Up to this point they can be erratic and you may have days when you feel baby lots and days when you don't feel it at all. As other posters have said though, if your mw service has a drop-in, do go - I went when I was worried about lack of movement (even though it was before 28 weeks and I knew I shouldn't be worrying, it's hard not to!) and she found the heartbeat straight away and was really reassuring.
