Interview for volunteer position tell them about pregnancy?

Hi,
I am 16+ weeks pregnant. I will be having an interview for a position with no pay. It is in a private firm in a field dominated by men. It is a professional position that will last about 3 month minimum. I need it because I am new to this country and need UK experience. It will be good to get it before the baby comes. There will be no hazard or risk factors, it is mainly an office drawing on the computer type of job. Should I tell about my pregnancy to them during my interview? My belly is not the obvious yet. I know rules are different if it was full time deal but if it is no pay and temporary does it make any difference.

Thanks!

If it helps, I was pregnant when I applied for my current role (which, I grant you, is a full time paid post). I was only 7 weeks when I interviewed but between the first and second interviews I contacted their head of HR and told him that I was expecting. They offered my the job nonetheless.

Now, I may just have been extremely lucky with my employers, but my understanding of the law is that they have to employ the best person for the job regardless of whether or not they are pregnant. I am not sure that it makes any difference whether or not that post is full or part time, paid or unpaid...

Perhaps not the most useful reply you may get, but will hopefully indicate that there are great employers out there...

thank you balletmoo. When did you gain your position, is it recently? You are very lucky, it is always good to be evolved with positive people.
Thanks for you feed back. I am thinking to tell and be out on the open, may be after they offer me the position but before I take it.

I wouldn't tell them. You're not legally obliged to yet (if at all with a voluntary role?) and although they're not supposed to take it into account, why give them the option? If you know you can do the job, that's all that counts. The rest is irrelevant and you can tell them nearer the time when it becomes relevant because you'll need to plan your leave.

I'm freelance btw so have a lot of pitches/interviews. I don't make false promises - I only agree to do work that I know can be finished this side of my due date. I'm 20wks now but can still disguise my bump just about. Even if they notice it, they don't say and nor do I. The way I see it, if it isn't an issue, don't make it an issue.
