Hi,
I'm getting totally confused over what or what not to have, but am going to a Japanese restaurant tonight and wondered if it is okay to have green/jasmine tea. And I've just had a massage with almond oil without thinking about it!

Green tea or jasmine tea are fine. Almond oil should be OK too, it's a bland carrier oil rather than an essential oil, which can sometimes cause problems with aromatherapy-type treatments.

Thank you. Feel like I am going to collapse with just remembering what to eat or not. Massage was lovely though!

I've heard several times that green tea is a no-no when pregnant.

I asked my m/w about herbal teas in general, and she wasn't sure about which ones were safe, so suggested sticking to fruit teas instead.

But green tea is tea before they do something to it.

OMG I just googled green tea and pregnancy and you're right! I drank loads during pregnancy as a "healthy" alternative to normal tea

I think you have to drink loads of it though for it to have a negative effect.
Am drinking a cup now actually.

I actually played a little game where I typed in the worlds - first trimester - and every food I could think of into google. Virtually everything was bad for you. I think it's just best to have what I feel like (at the moment, lots of cheddar)

There is a fab book called Birth and Beyond by Dr Yehudi Gordan that has extensive info on what oils and herby things you can and can't do while pregnant which I found really helpful - he doesn't say anything about green tea unfortunately (my motto while pregnant was when in doubt don't) - it is also quite pricey so just flip through a copy at the bookshop or something - it really went a long way to reassuring me particularly with regards to massage oils as I had massage throughout - I would say to trollprincess - try not to give into the google temptation - you will just end up scaring yourself silly!!
