Hey all, need some reasuring here...just how acurate are the growth measureing charts in the green notes??
A little bit worried here because at 26+2 midwife said I was at 28+5 (fairly normal i thought..Hmm)
At 28+2 midwife measured me at 33 weeks (WTF?! where'd those extra 3 weeks come from?...Confused)

Today at 31+2 I've reached the grand bump stage of 37+3 weeks! my chart says this means the babys about 7lb already!!!!

I'm not gonna lie to you I am bricking it a little worried as it is my first, and I wasn't expected a tiddler (I'm 6ft and DH is 6ft 3 and both big built) but COME ON really?! Babys shaping up to have a place in the world records at this rate!

sorry for the cross post

We were told we measured way ahead too, so had a growth scan where the measure the femur and the circumference of the head and abdomen and the volume of amniotic fluid etc which confirmed that the baby measures 3.5 weeks ahead - exactly what the tape measure said! If you don't think the tape measure is accurate - get a growth scan. they are about £100 privately which is what we did, or insist on getting an NHS one given how much further on you measure than you actually are.
I presume you are sure about your LMP date?

I was scanned regularly with 2nd (placenta praevia)

I am 5ft & was told baby would be "big for me".

Was actually so tiny was low birth weight!

i looked like a galleon in full sail with my last one. I was VAST. Measured big from the off, was around 42 at 36 weeks. was induced as I had trouble deliving dd (9lbs) and baby shot out at 8 lb 6oz at 38 weeks.

ANd I do mean shot out -1 hr 45mins from start to finish. Had lots of fluid too, so he was like a surfer when he arrived :D

FWIW, 2nd and 3rd babies both large and both easy births, no stitches, home within 4 hours.

The evening before my scheduled c-setion i was measuring 55 cms!!
I was flippin massive, my ds was 11lb 11oz and 2 feet long so I'd say the measurement was accurate.

lol @ 'scheduled c-section' boocha Wink

i have a friend who only breeds darn-near 11 pounders, and the last one broke her pelvis and his clavicle. should have scheduled a c-section indeed!

(that said, i managed to break vbac2's clavicle at only 9lbs...)

lol thanks for all the help ladies!

Only thing i am sure about is the conception date as i was on clomid and had ovualtion bloods done every week so im 99% that the dates are right (my EED is acutal a week ahead of the MW's!)

I've been back today and they measured me again, still 6 weeks ahead. MW said this time it may be due to im a chubba ahem slightly larger lady that im measuring so far where as it could be just about 2/3 weeks ahead instead (slighlty confused as im a fatty but I never carried it in my belly before i was preggers?)

Anyhoo got consultant again next week, hopefully goin to hav a growth scan....dont mind as long as babba healthy but would prefer a long baby to a chubba lol!!
