jittery/shaky feeling anyone?

I'm 12 weeks and for the past few days I've been almost permenantly feeling very jittery (like I've had way too much caffine) and very slightly shaky, especially in my arms/hands. Looked it up in my book but nothing mentioned so just wondered if anyone else ecperienced this? If so, is there anything I can do to help it?

I never have coffee/coke/too much caffine since I once had too much years ago and it made me feel really odd like this, now it seems to be here all the time for no reason! I did initially think I was a bit shaky as I was nervous about my scan, but that was now 2 days ago and if anything it's getting a little worse...

And I don't think it's low blood sugar as it's there regardless of if I've eaten or not.

Are you prone to low blood pressure?

I know that when either mine or DH's pressure is a bit on the low side, we feel like this. I had a shaky bout this weekend, but it's levelling out now I'm on iron tablets.

Phone your GP or midwife, and have a chat?

I felt very jittery for a few days immediately after conception - struggled to sleep, couldn't sit still etc. It stopped after about 4 days, then I found out I was pregnant a few weeks later so I just put it down to hormones. Def get it checked out though.

Thanks for that. Just spoken to my GP and she says leave it for a few days and if it doesn't go away/gets worse I need to go in. She said to check my pulse to see if it felt regular and that it could just be a general hormone thing/anxiety thing. My Mum has a blood pressure monitor so I might try that and see what it says. I don't usually get low blood pressure, but there's so much stuff going on in my body why knows.

wave to angels1 - I have had this recently too, am also 12 weeks, but mine feels more shaky, like cold, I have woken up at night shaking like I'm freezing, am due to have scan and see doctor this pm, I will ask and see what they say, funny enough I have had low blood pressure in the pst

I always have low blood pressure, and it gets even lower when i'm pregnant. At my last mw appointment she asked if i was feeling ok because my BP was so low.
It makes me feel very shakey some days (and lightheaded and dizzy).
Maybe not the cause in your case but worth checking out.

angels1 · 11/08/2010 14:10

well my bp is apparently normal...did have a shockingly high pulse though (95) but my pulse always gets higher when it gets checked...psychological thing.

Let me know what your doc says wrigglesrock.

angels saw Dr, had scan, all good, so vvvv happy Grin. She wasn't that concerned re shaking/cold, did say that sometimes your body forgets its pregnant, suddenly remembers and can go into mini-shock. Suggested I have a nice strong cup of tea!!! although I too am really suffering from sickness so I politely declined that offer.

If it keeps up will mention it to midwives but am so happy re scan that I can't really concentrate Grin

great news wigglesrock :) my ms is alternating between super bad all day and not too bad midday but kicks in super bad in the afternoon until late morning the next day....when will it end?!

think mine is just general pregnancy rubbish. Doctor asked me odd questions on the phone (do you have difficulty going to the loo, is your pulse regular etc....not sure what she was thinking) and whenever she asks me these things I can never think if I have had these issues or not and usually forget a vital bit of info!
