Bloody pregnancy nightmares

I'm having awful, vivid, pregnancy inspired nightmares. Just woken up by one featuring ds in a car crash. . Isn't there anything I can do to stop them?

Sad I remember those - I once dreamt I gave birth to a stick insect Shock

everyone said I had to throw it away, and I kept saying, "no, its my baby....".

no idea how to stop them - well, apart from giving birth!

how far along are you?

24 weeks. Heartburn is just starting to rear it's ugly head. The 'blooming' phase never seems to last long for me!

And even if it is a stick insect, how insensitive of people to suggest you throw it away!

I know!
it was the cutest little stick insect...Grin

hope you can get some restful sleep.

oh god, heartburn - my second DC was breech from about 24 or 25 weeks (he turned before birth), and I seemed to have constant heartburn, with his head stuck in my stomach. I could only eat small amounts at a time..

take care Smile

Wow, I'd forgotten how awful these were.

I dreamt I'd given birth to a kitten, and it kept scrabbling out of the bath.

The things that made it better for me were;

  • no caffeine in the evening at all
  • not reading or watching anything at all exciting in the evening, that's what started my cookery programme, book and magazine obsession!
  • consciously changing the outcome of my dream if I woke up, or just repeating it's a dream to myself.

Hope some or any of these help.

I don't think there's anything that can stop them though all the above suggestions, plus reducing stress during the day, may help. I get them whatever though - they're exhausting!

It was so vivid! I still feel a bit upset! I have a meeting in Leeds today, so had to leave extra early and I have my 1-2-1 with my manager on the train. This may have contributed to a stressful night's sleep! And I didn't get to see ds before I left. :(

yup, I've been getting vivid dreams since about 7 weeks. Last night it started off with a very nice dream involving Gary Barlow (?!) turning into literally a gory horrible horror mascre that went on for seemingly ages (not involving Gary Barlow!).

I've not found anything that stops them. I've been killing puppies with a hammer and last week stamped on a man's throat until I killed him! Nasty... But some of the other sort are fun Wink
