35 weeks, achy fanjo/ladybits - does this mean things are imminent?

I'm 35+ weeks with DC2, and have started to get really achy "down below" - I kind of feel bruised like you do if you have a mega sex session (I can vaguely remember what that was like Wink) or I guess are saddle sore from riding a bike.

Don't remember this with DD, but just wondered if anyone else had had it, and if so, if it meant anything

Thanks! :)

Sadly, I know exactly what you're talking about!

I started to feel like this at about 15 weeks and it's continued throughout. My GP tested me several times for thrush, but came to the conclusion it is just oedema resulting from the pressure pushing downwards (started so early because of extra weight of twin pregnancy, apparently Hmm )

GP said to consider it as I would swollen ankles, just a bit displaced!

Given that you're near full term, it would probably be best to check with your midwife as oedema (in the ankles at any rate) can be a symptom of pre-eclampsia.

Hope all goes well Smile

Thanks, that makes sense :)

Would have liked to have thought that it meant the little blighter may be coming out soon, but hey Wink

BP is running low and urine tested fine last week, so not too concerned about pre-eclampsia, but will mention it to m/w when I see her next week

Thanks again :)

Could it be SPD? I've had this on a off, and got to a point where I just wanted to put an ice lolly between my legs!

I didn't realise SPD felt like that... I always assumed it was backache/hip ache etc.

I kind of feel like my bits are throbbing at times Blush It's just on the outside, not internal at all.

But I completely understand the need for an ice lolly!

I thought it was thrush for a while, but it is possible the ligaments that hold your pelvis together see here all soften in pregnancy and they can make your pelvis grind together, or something like that anyway. I've had it on a off. SPD, or pelvic girdle pain as they call it now, encompasses all sorts of things. Best thing to do is rest up (easier said than done with DD I expect).

I do sympathise though, I'm feeling burny today, coupled with swelling up like a bloody balloon in my feet and hands.
