My dd (4) wanted to talk to the baby so she came and sat with me and started talking to my boob. When I asked what she was doing, she said she was talking to the baby, 'thats its head'. I had to explain (without laughing, this was very hard) that my boob was not the babys head!

Also, a little boy at her pre school went around telling everyone his mummy had a cat in her tummy!

My two have imagined that she has a little living room and her own telly etc inside my belly!
DS1 really wants a girl and DS2 really wants a boy. DS2 (2yrs) told my friend 'mommy is having a big girl baby for my brother, a big boy baby for me and a man baby for daddy!'

Also DS1 was singing to my tum when he asked would the baby come out thru my belly button (hes 3) so I said it was magic. DS2 (wearing Bob the builder hat) comes right up, sticks open eye to my belly button and announces - 'Nope shes stuck, I'll go get my tools!'

DS2(6) and DD (4) love looking at the week by week pregnancy development on line and we have had quite detailed descriptions of how the baby gets food and how he will come out.

DS2 does a fabulous rendition of squatting, spreading his legs and pushing a baby out at any opportunity Blush

DD says the baby gets milk form your boobs Mummy and makes a licking motion like a cat.

I showed DS (2.5) the 12 wk scan photo on a silly whim (Blush I know I should've waited til 20 wks) and asked him what he thought it was. 'A cat' he said. (He'd really love a new cat.)

He is now very into the idea of a baby in mummy's tummy but keeps on saying 'I'm pregnant' and patting his own tummy! He also likes talking to the baby and of his own accord, decided the obvious place to talk to is my tummy button. At least he's stopped sticking his sticky little fingers in there as he used to love to do. Hmm

He's also very attracted to my larger boobs and has started stroking them again. Hope he doesn't get too posessive of them when the baby comes, as we stopped bf several months ago...

DS aged almost 3: "You need to go to the gym mummy."
Me: "Why's that?"
DS: "You've got a big fat tummy mummy."
Me: "It's got a baby in it."
DS [solemnly, patronisingly, like he felt sorry for me and my denial]: "No mummy . . . go to the gym mummy."
