Hello

Not sure if this is the right place for this question.

Should I use non-bio or bio washing powder for my newborn? or doesn't it matter?

Also thinkng of using reuseable nappies - so same question for that really...

Thanks.

I always used non-bio as I worry about bio residues irritating their skin (and mine!) Although actually I've recently started to use eco balls which are very good and don't need a rinse cycle.

I don't use softener either - the whole point is that it's not fully washed out of the clothes, and it can cause problems with nappies too.

I have been told non-bio is best.

I was told it was best to use a non-bio and read that you shouldn't use a fabric conditioner.
Also if your machine has a function for an extra rinse that is good as it should remove most of the powder reducing the risk that it will cause your baby irritation.
I am using Sure to wash everything which seems to be good. You can get soap nuts which sound good I might try those when I actually get around to going to a shop that sells them.

In regards to the reuseable nappies I was told to avoid Napisan as although it makes the nappies look nice and white for the first few washes it apparently makes them go funny off white after a while.
Also get a bottle of Tea Tree essential oil so you csn put a few drops on dirty nappies whilst they're in the nappy bin waiting to be washed as its a natural anti bacterial and helps neaturalise odours.
