I haven't felt the baby move since (am 29 weeks). It wasn't that hard, I am being paranoid aren't I?

Probably :D

Baby is in a bag full of fluid, it would be very hard to hurt him without doing you some very serious damage as well. Have a quiet sit down with a cold drink and see if you can wake baby up. If you are really worried, or there is nothing by tomorrow, you could ring the MW and see if you can pop in for a listen.

If it makes you feel any better there was a woman in the bed opposite me when I was being tested for pre-eclampsia who had falled down a flight of stairs at 30 weeks. She was a bit battered but the baby was fine Call your MW if you're worried though

LouMacca · 03/08/2010 10:45

I am sure everything will be fine but you should give you MW a call just to put your mind at rest x

WorrisomeHeart · 03/08/2010 11:41

One of the books I read says that to do any damage to the baby, you would have to be hurt badly enogh to be hospitalised. That said, call your MW if worried - even just for the reassurance!

JamieJay · 03/08/2010 11:51

I reckon you'll be okay, a friend tripped over a curb and landed straight on her bump at 39 weeks (chasing her toddler) and baby was fine despite friend having a black and blue tummy.

Like Porcelain suggested have a cold drink and lie down to see if you can get baby to move, if you are worried about the movements give the midwife a ring and they'll happily have you in to check the heartbeat (I've been in twice and everything was fine both times )

And if you can't get your MW, call your GP. I had a minor car crash when 6 mos. pg with DD2. Our GP was very happy to have me to for a quick check-over to make sure she was fine (in fact, he said he quite liked it, as he didn't get to look after pg ladies much any more, and it was a part of his job he'd really enjoyed!).

Thank you everyone and sorry to have disappeared. I am at work and have been in meetings. The baby's wriggling away - phew.

Glad to hear that

(wrote 'falled' in my earlier post! Good grief - I shall retire to dunce's corner )
