constant dull ache

I'm 14 weeks and have a constant dull ache low down. It kind of feels like when I have my period.

Is this normal? I haven't had any bleeding. I'm guessing that it's just a bit of stretching going on. I can feel my uterus really easily sitting here typing this which I can't normally. It's been slowly creeping up but now it feels much bigger and harder.

Just need some reassurance please.

With anything I would say ring your midwife if you are worried.

However I have felt this way all three times - if you think about it something that hasnt grown before (presuming its your first?) is now stretching and growing each day and there is something living in side it! Baby and placenta might not weigh much right now but they are still an additional weight somewhere you are not used to.

After about 12 weeks it does pop up over your pubic bone so you can feel it.

Am presuming the pain is not enough to distract you / take painkillers / be upset? If it gets worse ring someone but am sure it is perfectly normal. If something was 'wrong' then I think the pain would be far greater.

Yes it is my first and no, it's not enough to make me want painkillers or anything. It's just niggling.

I've got an appointment with the midwife on Thursday so I'll mention it then if it's still bugging me. I just get a bit paranoid that things aren't right. I'm too much of an internet addict!

Thanks for the advice.

anne74 I have been getting that niggly crampy feeling (am 14 weeks today) and I get sharp pains almost like a stitch too. Have been reassured by MN and by my midwife that it is all perefctly normal. However I too am an internet addict as this is my first and am trying to get as much info as I can. But I think too much knowledge can be dangerous! 'Step away from google - it is not your friend' was the best bit of advice I've been given by a fellow MNer.

It's so true that too much online info will only confuse you, make you paranoid and possibly even get you worried. At least that's how I felt after devouring everything online as soon as I found out I was pg.

Am around 12 wks now and have learned to calm down when it comes to seeking internet 'advice' (apart from on here of course ).

I also have that dull achey feeling almost every day. Am not even worried, I guess I just expect that's normal anne74
