Cots: Stokke vs Boori?

I have already posted here asking for views on Stokke products and received some very useful feedback. I am now trying to choose between Stokke and Boori cots, specifically on the mother-friendliness of the two.

Whilst Stokke sleepi has 4 mattress positions, its sides are fixed. Does it become really difficult to get a baby out of the cot at at a later stage when the mattress is rather low? Meanwhile, Boori cotbeds typically have three mattress positions AND a secure drop side. Would you say that a drop side is a really important feature? Btw, both my husband and I are quite tall.

Thanks!

We went with King Parrot (cheaper end of the Boori range I think), as it had a drop side. It has 2 mattress positions. DS is 10.5 mo, but I have yet to really use the drop side, normally as he is quite snoozy and winding down nicely for sleep, and dropping the side is actually quite noisy, and that distracts him, and wakes him as there is a new source of interest! And in the mornings, he is standing, waiting to be picked up. Not sure what will happen when he's ill? May come in to its own then. Do love the cot though as it looks great!

I have a stokke - have used it for 2 kids (DS2 is now 18 months - on second to lowest setting) and havent found the lack of drop side an issue.

We have a second cot at my parents which has a drop side on it - and to be honest its so noisey and such a faff to use that we've only ever tried to use the drop side twice and end up lifting the children into the cot anyway just as with the stokke.

Thank you, Mole and Dinkystinky! Hmm, so far it seems the consensus is that a drop side is rather noisy and does not really make life massively easier...

Hi Umnitsa -- I am also considering the stokke and the boori - what have you decided to go for?

I don't have either of the brands you are considering but would say I have not needed a drop side at all. By the time we dropped the mattress far enough for it to be a bending issue DD could stand so she would stand to be picked up.

Mum2oneloudbaby - thanks for the advice, that's the line of reasoning we had as well.

Hi Podmumlet - we ended up getting a Stokke and I am now using it quite happily.

The mini is sitting by the bed next to me, it is easy to scoop out Bambina for feeding when I am half asleep (she is about 3 weeks now and has been sleeping in the cot from the beginning).

I am really pleased about the choice; the Boori cot is rather bulky and wouldn't have fit next to our bed => more hassle getting up in the middle of the night. The idea is that she will be in our bedroom whilst in the mini, and by the time she grows into the cot size, she will be in her room.
